President Bush secretly landed an hour ago and is currently eating Thanksgiving dinner at my undisclosed location. Anticipate a press release after he takes off.

6:37 AM Thursday PST, Iraq is at 5:37 AM FRIDAY.

Wrong.

Iraq is 8 hours ahead of us on the East Coast....and it is 11:51 AM RIGHT NOW that makes it 7:51 PM in IRAQ RIGHT NOW

Can you grasp that???

George Bush is a great president and anyone who does not vote to re-elect him is an idiot who is putting our families in grave danger.

The President landed in a Gulfstream at BIAP, not in the 747.

Leads me to believe that they landed, possibly in England, and swapped planes.

I'll bet you $1000 that no DU family has any kid anywhere near Iraq or the Armed Forces, for that matter.

No, it is a very smart move on her part...you see, she is planning to run in 2008 and will probably win (no I don't like that idea, but I suspect she will win)..

Well, yes, I'm sorely familiar with Slick and Beastie's plans for 2008. Bill Safire has discussed them in print and I've discussed them in here with other FReepers for the last year or so. I'm familiar with Slick's calculation that America will be sick of Wall Street Pubbie-ism after eight years and that the country will turn grateful, goo-goo eyes toward Beast Woman ..........especially since she and Slick will still be in solid, Peronista-style control of the Democratic Party and will give the Dems no alternative to anointing Hillary ("oh, gee, oh gosh, oh how unexpected......you want little old me to run?!!" <hurling noises in background, lentulusgracchus stumbles away doubled over, toward nearest fire escape/men's room/open elevator shaft>

I haven't doped out all the nuances of why the Felon Family are dangling Gen. Clark in the race. Either he is a stalking horse -- if he wins, does Hillary step forward to eat him up in the convention? -- or a sacrificial lamb. I haven't figured out the intramural, hermaphroditic aspects of the Dems' can-of-worms. Failing sudden illumination, I guess I like your theory as well as any.

Interesting, though, that you think Condi will be the nominee on the Pubbie side.......I think 2008 will be too early for her yet, no cabinet officer has ever done squat in nomination politics (Rummy is one who tried). She'll need to get her butt out to California to succeed the Governator first (can you say Aaahnuld!!), then she'll be ready. Or failing that, New York, when Pataki steps down. Still, I'd like to see Beast Woman's face if Condi threw her hat in the ring as the candidate of Castle Arbusto. It'd be more fun than turning a fire hose on the Wicked Witch of the West. Shrub sure thinks a hell of a lot of Condi, but I don't know whether, even if the Bushes could secure the nomination for Condi "just like that" (which would begin to raise some serious questions in my mind about the direction of American politics), she could get over Beast and Incubus; she'd be too green still.

Wellllll, I won't go that far with you. I don't know about "great president" (I'd settle for "pretty good" or "light-years better than the alternative") and I don't know about the "grave danger" part, either. That would only be true in the big East Coast cities even if the Gorebot were president and doing a PC ostrich/navel-examining act w/ respect to Arab terrorism.

Even in the hands of the Rats, this is still a pretty stout country. It even stood up to 48 years of the New Deal.

the reason I say Condi will run is because VP Cheyney's heart is due to conk out on the statistical tables...(I love the guy, but I have to be honest: His prognosis in 2000 was ok for four years, but as he approaches 8 years, I wonder...) Condi would make a great vp, don'tcha think?

And I wonder if they will spring it on us during the convention without any hints before hand.

condi is cool but lets save her for 2008. Elizabeth Dole/Condileeeza Rice, or vice versa, a sure ass kicking for hillary in 2008.

We need a conservative that will eliminate social spending not a "moderate" that will increase it.

Dole doesn't even come close to being a conservative.

if you can't get elected you don't do squat. I don't necessarily think this is the best ticket for the party, but it is a ticket that can win.

"Elizabeth Dole" Arghh!!!!!!!!!!!!NO WAY!

Why not? She was good enough for some around here to cheer her on as the next 'conservative' Senator from NC. She's been happy enough in her career to help force through useless national regulations which have intruded upon the rights of the states to maintain their internal affairs. Heck, why not put her in charge of the national government? She probably thinks that's where she deserves to be anyway, I say let's do it.... ( /Dolt rant for the day off ;))
