Geez, the overt hatred for the military folks on DU is amazing. It amazes me even more when some of them claim they were in the military at one point or another.

When you scratch the surface of a "I was in the military and I HATE THOSE BRAIN-WASHED BABY-KILLERS!" person, you'll usually find someone who--

a) got kicked out for one reason or another or

b) someone who couldn't hack it but managed to make it to the end of his four years as the platoon b*tch; scrubbing floors and painting walls because that was the only thing he couldn't screw up (though, occasionally, he could find a way). People like that resent their betters for 'not giving them a chance,' even though they've been given multiple chances and keep failing.

I'm getting rid of a type b later this month, and good riddance.

That quotation has been attributed to a lot of folks, Churchill most often. Unfortunately, Winston is the one person who can most reliably be ruled out. Reaching back into my dim recollections from college, I think Bismark was accepted as the most likely culprit.

I have a few in my family, mainly on my wife's side of the family. They are ,indeed sincere in their convictions and hate. They are also, in denial over what the Democrat Party really is. They deny the party is a lover of immoral, homosexual activity. They also deny the party is the party of killing babies, the party that hates the military, and the party that is anti-America. I could continue on and on.

They are just a notch better than the terrorists themselves.

When you actually believe the Democrat Party is, "not", what I have mentioned, It is really a good party.
