What I'd like to hear:
Condi: "Mathew... your questions are almost as pointed as your head."
To: STARWISE
Here it is:
Matt, saying ..(paraphrasing) there have been some critical comments about the President not attending funerals of killed soldiers, blah blah .. their families are upset, blah, blah, blah
Matt .. (paraphrasing) ... the fighting isn't really over .. X # of troops have been killed ... "the end of conflict" regurgitation, blah blah blah
Condi is unwavering!!!! Go CONDI!!

Next President of the United States. Condi Rice. I always like Jeane Kirkpatrick, but Condi is da bomb.

She is on Fox and Friends right now. They just read a comment from Doe Eyed Joe Lockhart. It was a dispictable comment but coming from one of Clintons gang, I guess we have to expect it.

"Condi is unwavering!!!! Go CONDI!!"
The Democrap talking points must be claiming Bush hasn't attended funerals or visited families of fallen troops. Fox just asked Condi about a quote from Joe Lockhart (Clinton Press Sec.). Lockhart claims Bush hasn't visited any family members of the fallen soldiers, so why should he go to Baghdad. Of course this is a blatant lie, and although Condi is gracious as can be, she said it was false and that the President has indeed visited family members.

And the Leftists wonder why we question their patriotism. Lockhart's comment was sour grapes from a man who would apparently prefer that the president would not honor the troops. How politically motivated is THAT?

Bush has not only visited family he has called each and every one of them.

Just look at and listen to the SOLDIERS he visited-- that is who this was all about, isn't it? These media whores spewing the democrap line is laughable-- ask the soldiers what they think of him. Oh wait, they were asking them and the troops were positively gushing with pride for this President. Guess they didn't like that.

... Kirkpatrick was the only woman prepared to be President. These are the 'true words'. I would have been proud to call her President! With seasoning, Rice could be on the ticket for 2008... either top spot or #2.
Her incredible focus in answering the fractured, multi-faceted questions she gets from the liberal bobble-heads is like Rumsfelds but more polished and professional. In a debate with Ms. Rodham, Ms. Rice would have her running off the stage in tears! HA!

I can not forget the cold reception Oprah gave Condi when she appeared on Oprah's show.
I like Oprah very much. She is obviously brilliant, imaginative, creative, and a very good person. I like her public persona, and, one never knows until one is actually in the situation, and I have never met Oprah, but I think I would like her personally.
But she has a stunning disconnect.
It is deeply disturbing to see her swooning, praising outrageously, and falling all over mindless, semi-literate "celebrities" but giving the cold shoulder to someone truly outstanding, accomplished, and as brilliant as Oprah herself, like Dr. Rice.
Have I misperceived this? Does anyone else have this same impression, or is it just me?

Jeb won't run in 2008. Can't have one Bush running after the other. People will be tired of the Bushes in 2008; Republicans will need to offer change. Condi will be that change.
You don't go up against the Hildebeast with another Bush. You beat the Hildebeast with a smarter woman.

And the Leftists wonder why we question their patriotism That's why I didn't watch any coverage this morning. I didn't want to hear ANY of them taint and distort the wonderful thing he did for the troops. I don't understand how anyone could have watched the coverage of the President's trip yesterday and not be moved by the moment. They can't see past their own hatred of the man. I just knew they all would be overanalyzing and criticizing him this morning. They do such a disservice to the troops by bashing their Commander in Chief. The media and the rats are such losers.

Agreed. Without actually researching it, I can't think of any president in the past century except Eisenhower who had not won at least one election. She does carry some unwanted baggage; wrong on abortion, and weak on limited government, but I certainly would vote for her against any democrat I can think of. She is as proudly American as anyone could be.
To: Sacajaweau
i think the two major parties biggest blunders are:Republicans never pushing Jeanne Kirkpatrick to
be on a national ticket: democrats never putting
Sam Nunn at the top of the ballot in the presidential race.

Hear, hear. Condi has no electoral experience, however. This is why Hillary! had to get a senate seat.
However, Condi is in the process of creating a public persona that has begun to overwhelm others in the administration. Colin Powell, for example, is playing the Abba Eban role, eschewing national politics for the daunting tasks of high-stakes diplomacy (after this war, I bet his role will be revealed as most vital--the Indo-Pak crisis last year very nearly turned into a major war; the Bush/Powell intervention may been seen years later as the turnaround in American handling of regional crisis).
Condi is seemingly the voice who speaks when W. cannot. I think she's going to surprise people in the next year or so.
Just by doing her job.

She is a savvy businesswoman, and knows how to schmooze, but she's too blinded by celebrity to be brilliant.

To: mass55th
I know there is a thread out there somewhere, where the press played it up that the fiancee (although the press reported it as the wife) of one of the soldiers killed in a helocopter crash, didn't want to go with the rest of the families to meet with Bush. How did that happen if he didn't meet with any families? Another typical RAT lie.

Oprah has a certain brilliance as measured by her success at doing 'what she does'. Her greatest coup was when she decided she wanted a part of the ownership of her show. That was at a time when that was not the standard MO and she got real lucky that it worked out so big. I'll give her lots of credit for managing and expanding on that since, but 90% of her wealth can be traced back to that one decision.

How can a President attend every single funeral of fallen soldier? Doing this would downplay our efforts in the war. Bush has already issued numerous statements of praise and made phone calls.
X42 never made any phone calls to the families of Marines dragged in Somalia or the USS Cole bombing.

Chris, everyone here better figure this out: Rice is (so far) NOT a politician. She has not run for office; not gotten a single vote in a single eleciton; not raised a penny. Barring a phenomenal next four years, she will not be material for a presidential candidate. Maybe Veep, but even then, she brings no voter appeal/sectional appeal to the table. I'm sorry, but we all have to realize that there are QUALIFICATIONS to running for office, and as distasteful as they may be, they involve the ability to run an organization; appoint people; and RAISE MONEY.
