[history]
Mary Lou Robinson heard the doctor's words. Until this moment, this day in September 1996, she didn't believe they could be true.
"I'm sorry to inform you, you are HIV positive."
The day before, the same doctor had recommended Robinson be tested for the virus that causes AIDS. She had had mysterious symptoms for two years that doctors and tests could not explain. But HIV never entered the realm of possibilities of what Robinson thought was making her sick.

Nope. No more than it is a "Reagan Legacy."
AIDS is a disease whose spread was aided and abetted by the moral and physical collapse of the public health system. Both parties were guilty and many administrations political games all played a role here.
Until the public health system is given the green light to do the normal tracking of disease spread protocols it does for other sexually transmitted diseases. AIDS will never be contained, let alone beaten.

She had been in a heterosexual relationship.
I wonder if she had engaged in a homo activity, a anal sex act

if the male partner is the sole source of income, the woman also could lose economic security.Sex for money? That's being a prostitute.

There was a time when there was no public-health system, yet there was a generally-accepted sexual morality that prevented the spread of STDs. The Clinton legacy is that now anything goes, regardless of the consequences, even if it means AIDS.

AIDS will never be contained, let alone beaten.A simple change in behavior is all it takes.
Far more heterosexuals die each day in swimming pool accidents in the US. We need to show some priorities here and ban swimming pools. We desperatly need a huge special interest group lobbying for billions from evil republicans.

AIDS will never be contained, let alone beaten. It won't be done because of political correctness. The disease is also higher in certain ethnic groups as well as homosexuals ---- so there is no way it's going to be treated like other diseases to slow the spread of it down.

White House administrations don't infect people with HIV. To blame Reagan, Clinton, or any politician for the poor personal behavior of the masses is rediculous. Show me one child in America who "graduates" middle school who doesn't go through a yearly "AIDS Awareness" program about the dangers of unprotected sex and/or intravenous drug use.
AIDS is an illness that (in most cases) can be tracked to homosexual activity and/or intravenous drug use. I would bet dollars-to-doughnuts that the woman described in this article was sleeping with a man who A) had sex with an infected man, or B) shared a needle with an infected drug user.

Some ten years ago an associate with the Hudson Institute named Michael Fumento wrote a book called "The Myth of Heterosexual AIDS." Does anyone know if Fumento's findings have been successfully debunked? His findings are just what you wrote above.

Clinton and his likes are to blame. The desease is due to lower moral standards not anything else. AIDS is not curable, so a better treatment by the public health system actually means MORE opportunities for infections. The only thing that can slow AIDS down is better morals and a public list of all infected. Who will support that?

This is a funny statement. You don't seem to notice that the "anti-crime" Hollowood movies actually increase crime. I have seen some of the materials given to students - they present sex and AIDS as some curious, shoot-as-you-go game. They absolutely lack any moral guidance and create the false impression that HIV is hard to catch and easy to prevent.
AIDS is an illness that (in most cases) can be tracked to homosexual activity... I would bet that the woman... was sleeping with a man who shared a needle...
Perfect illustration to my words... The point is that you have absolutely no proof of this speculation and it by no means will cure the woman...

Two things come to mind after I have read this article.
1-Majic Johnson was diagnosed as HIV positive 10 plus years ago. He is alive without AIDS.
2-Exposure to TB as an infant can produce an HIV positive result.
