It's called the Segway Human Transporter, but the Pentagon is drafting the two-wheeled scooter as part of a plan to develop battlefield robots that think on their own and communicate with troops. The new shock and awe

I saw some moron riding one of these on the sidewalk across from Grand Central and was wishing that they had never been invented.

I still see no advantage in doing a high tech balancing act on two wheels over what can be done for nothing on 3 or 4 wheels.

While the concept BEHIND segways might prove to have some really cool uses, the thing itself is retarted. It's somewhat faster than walking, but slower than a bike. It's heavy and awkward. And it's expensive. No wonder it's a dismal failure.
Why would someone waste five grand on a Segway when they could take the subway to work and buy an old car for the 5g's?

Armor the thing, put a bomb on it, and send it into the enemy's trenches or HQ. Without the control shaft sticking up, it would be hard to spot. The Army will enjoy experimenting with this.
