I'd already heard about "bug chasers" but watched John Walsh last night who's program was about these people.
A woman on the program just filmed a documentary called "The Gift" about these bug chasers and gift givers.
Also, there was a young gay man who intentionally sought to acquire the HIV virus and then regretted what he had done. Well boo f'in hoo.
And once upon a time I saw a statistic that showed that funding for AIDS research was well and above the funding for breast cancer, heart disease, diabetes and other serious diseases. Wish I could find that information again.
It just burns me that all we hear about is the plight of the poor folks who get AIDS and that we must be ever vigilant to find a cure for this and then come to find out that one of the high risk groups treats this as a badge of honor (I guess to get more sympathy from homophobes). In this day and age, only someone stranded on a tropical island for the last 20 years would not know how to prevent AIDS.
But because it afflicts mostly homosexuals, we are to treat it with kid gloves and respect to the core of our being.
That's just MY rant and I may be wrong.

A woman on the program just filmed a documentary called "The Gift" about these bug chasers and gift givers. Yep. You can read about it here: Acting Up.
Rolling Stone also wrote a similar article: The men who long to be HIV+. Some in the pro-homosexual crowd will try to deny this information. The only part that's really up for debate is the %25 figure, but Rolling Stone is sticking to the article as written.
And once upon a time I saw a statistic that showed that funding for AIDS research was well and above the funding for breast cancer, heart disease, diabetes and other serious diseases. Wish I could find that information again.
I just posted some of that yesterday (I think). I'll see if I can find it. You may find this helpful:

One word: BEHAVIOR! Change the behavior, avoid the disease. Gee, common sense must make me a homophobe!

Whatever suits you would be fine by me.
Odd request, though, from somebody that holds AIDS to be the worst plague in history and yet is unwilling to learn more about its carriers.

The #1 and #2 ways to avoid getting HIV and/Or AIDS?
1: Don't have Sex with a man if you're a man. Don't have sex with a woman who's had sex with a man who's had sex with a man.
2: Don't have sex with a woman or a man who's done intravenous drugs.
Do both of those things and you will have reduced your risk to less than a half percent. Better odds than a Condom.

The lessons of Soddom and Gommorah have still not been learned by the "secular". When is it time to "not look back"?
To: Coleus
All,
Do not use words "gay" when referring to homosexual behavior anymore. I will use the term "homosexual" as I'm sick of the perversion of the English word "gay".
Those who don't like it will have to deal with it. Period.
Gay does not equal homosexual bliss.
Say "homosexual" when the term applies.
I'm gay in anticipation of the celebration of Christ's birth.

That sounds like some of the questions on the form preceeded with "have you ever had" when I dontate blood.

Good point! I have always wondered why homosexuals refer to themselves as 'gay', but they (and the media)do NOT call lesbians 'gay'. It's always "gays and lesbians' when they're referred to as a group.
