Please, please, read
my post from a few weeks back. The original article is very long but it does set up that potion that is excerpted. From a cost/benefit analysis as to how people will view this 'stem cell' issue in the future, this economist is telling it like it is. Unless of course spirituality will trump in the future. Judging by the trends in our society I'm tempted to think Frankenstein's Creature is all ready to be brought to life.

The problem is with embryonic stem cells, not adult stem cells, placental stem cells, etc. So far, there have been great results with adult stem cells, but the lone embryonic stem cell test, on Parkinson's patients, didn't work out so well. Some people seem determined to push embryonic stem cells, just because of the objections- regardless of the benefits to the ill.
