Public sector unions are indistinguishable from seditious conspiracies.

Unfortunately for the union bosses, under the Supreme Court's Beck decision, union members have a right to demand a refund of the portion of their dues spent on politics.

This article should be sent to every teacher you know with the part highlighted where you can request a refund of their dues spent on politics.

"Each year, the NEA spends about $75 million (state and local affiliates contribute an additional $43 million) on its 1,800-member "UniServ" staff who serve as local administrators for the union."

According to my calculator, that's $65,000 per staff member.
Not bad.

"The NEA claims it got a clean bill of health from an IRS review of its 1993 return"

This is no surprise-Clinton used the IRS like his own Brownshirted goon squad to punish his critics...and apparently reward his supporters.

kAcknor Sez:Not that I am a supporter of the IRS in any way, but in this case I wish them luck, perseverance, and good hunting.

The following is from http://www.opensecrets.org/orgs/summary.asp?ID=D000000064 (found it in another thread). It shows the percentage of donations to political parties from PAC's and individuals that recieve support from the NEA.

It's clear from the 2004 numbers that maybe they have begun to realize that things have changed, and who is running things these days (but it's early yet), and that's just fine. Individuals and organizations both have a right to contribute to whoever they wish, and in my opinion, with disclosure, as much as they wish!

But they aren't above the law or the IRS.
