I don't know much about either, but was surprised that he was reported to have told a police officer he had cocaine in his pocket.

Then again, maybe drugs have taken away the intelligence he used to have. There was an article posted here some months ago where George Clinton is quoted saying something completely absurd.

Hopefully he invested his money and can afford a good detox-rehabilitation center as well as a good attorney. I doubt any record industry folks will step forward now to lend him assistance.

Any junkie worth his salt can make crack into cocaine. (street crack is simply free base with additives that alter the high occasionally but usually just serves as filler ) But , Clinton is better off being busted with straight powder than with rock. I'm betting he knows that, tooo -- probably the reason he was carrying powder. Most crack heads don't even bother with powder.

Drug use is nothing new for George Clinton. He admits to using LSD to fuel his early 1970s recordings (at a time when LSD was not widely accepted by the black community).

I can't speak for Mr. Clinton but marijuana was openly smoked by the crowd at the show I saw in Galveston a few years back.

I'm not shocked by his behavior and I am not aware of any denials of drug use by George Clinton (by Bill Clinton, yes). Maybe we should bypass the "marijuana" question for Presidential candidates and leap right to psychedelics since they can bar a civilian from military service.

Also from my reading of the article, I don't see any clarification as to whether Mr. Clinton had rock or powder cocaine. He just said that he had "cocaine".
