Al has reportedly decided to flank the Clintons by backing Howard Dean for president.

Exactly what I thought. Dick Morris is a finger-in-the-wind analyst, but he's right on here: Lyin' Al is sick of not being the starmaker of the party. He's goin' for broke.

Gee, I thought Gore was a pro-business Republican now that he is on the Apple Board of Directors.

She sees the decade-long reign of sanity in the Democratic Party leadership coming to an end and is determined to make it in the brave new world.

After reading that line, I was sure that the toe-sucker is still just that. Wonder which decade he meant.

With or without Gore's backing, Dean's primary threat to the eternally and thoroughly corrupt clintons lies not in 2004 but rather in 2008 when name recognition from the 2004 campaign will propel him rather than the ugly one to the top. We must accept the possibility that 2008 will bring a less formidable opponent than we currently have in GWB. Let the games begin!

Best regards,
Penny

Dissatisfied at how thoroughly forgotten he is among active Democrats and resentful of all the attention Sen. Hillary Clinton, his White House rival, is getting, Al has reportedly decided to flank the Clintons by backing Howard Dean for president.

------------------------------

Gore has always been a patsy in the entire scene who was forgotten before he ran for president. Everyone knew Gore was a moron with no chance of winning. He would take a fall so that Hillary could run in '04.

Well my personal conspiracy theory was that Wesly Clark was put in as a decoy by the Clintons. When the convention fails to nominate a candidate the first round the delegates would be free to vote for anyone. Wesly steps aside and nominates Hillary. Everyone rushes forward as she is seen as the one to beat the president. She gets the nomination without getting beat up in the democrat primaries. Now she can deflect all critisism from Republicans as vast right wing conspiracy talk. She surges ahead on the estrogen vote and the liberal vote. I always thought she was positioning herself for 2004. In 2008 Mcauliff won't be the head of the DNC and the Clinton magic will be gone.
Anyway, that's the way I had it figured. But be careful who you screw over, Gore seems to have thrown a monkey wrench in the works. If Dean gets full backing Hillary fades to the background. In 2008 if a Dem is president she has to wait until 2012. I don't think she can avoid prison till then unless she pardons herself.
Oh well, that was my take on it.

"Dean has mobilized this new power to get power; nowGore is using it to get his relevance back."

I might point out that one cannot get back what one never had.

As far as "maybe he just wants to be vice president again?" ....... No one is that delusional, are they?

BTW ....... I wonder how Lieberman is feeling today?

The fight we are witnessing is a battle for control of the Democratic Party.

Cynic that I am, it seems to me this is like fighting over the controls of the Titanic after it hit the iceberg.
