Sierra Vista, AZ Deanie-Weenie After Freep Report
Myself | 12/16/03 | AZHSer

Posted on 12/16/2003 7:47:20 PM PST by AZHSer

First of all, let me state that this was not really a Dean rally, it was more like a Hate Bush rally. My husband and I arrived at the Sierra Vista Airport at around 2:10p.m. Dean was due to be there by 3. There was already a gentleman there carrying a sign that said Draft Dodger on one side and Coward Dean on the other. He was also passing out leaflets containing information concerning Dean's little skiing trip he took after getting a medical deferment. Another couple, both Republican Precinct Committeemen, and the leader of the Cochise County Young Repulicans were there. Nine in all.

Our original objective was to assist For Our Grandchildren in passing thier literature concerning Social Security reform. For more information about this organization, please visit http://www.forourchildren.org. The pictures from this event and others they have attended will be posted there. Three of them drove down from Tucson with signs and pamplets. Thanks Guys! In addition to thier signs, my husband and I carried copies of Just Another Lurker's I Want You Help Stop Terrorism and Oppression - Vote Republican graphic.

In order to fill the hanger they bused in 2 busloads of people. They also bused in the 8th grade classes from Huachuca City (Middle?) School.

Before Dean arrived, the guy with the Draft Dodger sign went into the hangar. He was cussed at, kicked, poked, shoved, ect. The S.V. Police Department had to surround him to pull him out to keep him from getting hurt. He was able to keep his good humor though. Several people came outside and apologised to him saying that he had as much right to be there as anyone else. Some of these folks left.

When Dean arrived we lined up to show him our signs. One old guy tried to get the Deanie-weenies to use thier signs to cover ours. He could not get anyone to do this. As a result Dean got an eyeful of our signs. It was fairly quiet while he was inside except for this dirty hippie type guy quoting made derogetory poetry about President Bush. There was also an eighth grader that had passed out in the hangar. His teacher and a friend carried him out. Aside from calling 911, nobody helped them. The kid had to lie down on the cold pavement until the paramedics got there. I allowed the teacher to use my cell to call the school and make arrangements. Hope he is okay. During the whole thing there were a lot of folks leaving or just milling around outside of the hangar.

Things heated up after Dean left. People leaving were generally nice unil they saw hubby and my signs. At one point I was surrounded by a group of people, led by the hippie poet who were making some very ugly comments. After they left, this hippie skank got right in my face screaming about the environment and how the luekimia cluster we are experiencing down here is Bush's and Ft.Huachuca's fault. They have aready proven it's caused by naturally occurring tungsten in the soil and when I started to refute her she pointed her finger in in my face, screamed that a vote for Bush was a vote for killing her child and then poked me on the chin as hard as she could. I told her she needed to leave or I would get the police and my hubby came over to make sure I was okay. Her husband (the hippie poet) came and got her and led her away.

An old guy screaming at the Draft Dodger guy attracted the attention of Wall Street Journal reporter Jackie Calmes. She was very biased. She wanted to know what the difference was between Dean's dodging and the year Bush took off from the reserves to campaign for his Dad. My husband stepped in and gave her information regarding the difference in active duty and reserve units. She kept insisting that Bush was AWOL at that time and that we were being inconsistant to point out Dean's dodging. She did take notes on what my hubby told her so maybe she will check it out.

All in all, it was a good FReep. We handed out almost all of the info from For Our Grandchildren and made some new friends. Hopefully, next time there will be more of us.

Thanks for the great report! This was your first trial by fire - wish I could have been there. Aren't leftists rotten?

Just a quick correction, the website for the social security reform organization is ForOurGrandchildren.org.

Is this the graphic on your sign?

I probably need to add that the people were bused in from Tucson. Cochise County is a small area and except for the Bisbee wackos I don't think Dean has much support.

Thats it! It really pissed off the hippie guy. He kept saying that GW looked like a little boy playing soldier. He also kept going on about how Bush was just a spoiled rich boy. About that time Dean's plane arrived and my hubby told him "Well there's your rich boy in his plane." The guy shut up and moved off. LOL!

And I need to add that you did great!! Now that you've done it, you'll be looking for opportunities to do it again. Sorry I had to miss it.

Interesting bit about the kid who passed out. Remember the Jefferson-Jackson dinner a few weeks ago, when the media made such a big deal about "Doctor" Dean rushing off the stage to assist someone in the crowd who was supposedly having medical problems of some kind or other? Where was the good doctor today whan that boy passed out? To me, this just reinforces my belief that the Doctor Dean bit at the fundraiser was a completely staged event.

At any rate, I also do hope that boy is okay. If you hear anything else about him please let us know. Great Freep!

Glad for the information on the WSJ reporter. Lots of people don't realize that the WSJ has two groups...the editorial page (our side) and the news pages (leftists selected by Al Hunt).

Your report confirms this information. Thanks again!

I'll bet five bucks that Al Hunt will not have a single kind word to say about the late Robert Bartley in either his weekly WSJ editorial page column or on his gig on The Capital Gang.

Great Job. I thought and prayed for those who could go. I was working and couldn't get off.

Hope you and your hubby turned in a Police report to the S.V. Police on the woman for Assault from the Bisbee Commies.

Too bad Dean couldn't have been forced due to some problem on the civilian side to land on the Libby Army Airfield side and the rally held, (as a courtesy of course) in a hanger on the post side.

I know quite a few MPs who would love to get a Bisbee hippie into D-Cell and charge them with assault on Federal Property and a Military Installation.

Pinging all of AZ on behalf of AZHSer for her great account of a great FReep.

(I have list of AZ FReepers from several weeks back when Bush was in AZ and I tried, apparently without success, to get FReepers to counter the leftists protesting Bush.)

Hubby said I should let you know that the young man and his teacher were black. Wonder if that had anything to do with it? Seems like the boy was just dehydrated. Folks around here generally drink enough in the summer because it is so hot. Once it gets cold, they forget. Hopefully he has been rehydrated and is already home resting.

Dean was also in Yuma today, we chose to ignore him we didn't want to add to his numbers, or draw any unnecessary attention to him. I spoke to someone who was there, he said all Dean did was bash the President. There were about 200 there, many were snow birds.

Thanks for the ping Bill. I have to admit I am embarrassed that I have not been able to attend any AZ FReeps. You guys did great down in SV...AZHSer, when the hippie girl touched you she committed battery...she should have been arrested. Like most lefties they let their emotions rule their lives. One day she will poke the wrong person and spend some time in tent city...
