Arnold is focused on a solution, not pipedreams.

yep sruleoflaw!

Usually when I see a governor exclude everyone from a meeting except democrats, I'd call the governor a democrat. Arnie had a meeting with everyone EXCEPT republicans, and made a decision.

And FairOpinion and the posse will defend it.

What's that tell ya?

If CA goes bankrupt, it will have a major negative impact on the US and the world economy

And that is why the US Congress will not let the place go belly up. The US Congress willl rescue California with a bailout. And in return, Congress will "oversee" every last line of every state budget. California will be baby-sat like.... the District of Columbia, for example.

"The problem is the Democrats."

==

BINGO! Exactly. That way Haynes's point also. We should unite and try to replace them with Republicans in the CA legislature and statewide offices, so then we can start changing CA for the better -- but as long as the Dems have control, and they still do, with the one exception of the governorship, it's virtually impossible to enact Republican agenda.

BTW, people again, ignore, that if Arnold didn't win, we woudl now either have a strengthened Davis as governor, or Bustamante.

Speaking of Bustamante -- his Aztlan buddies are sympathizers with the Palestinian terrorists and don't believe we really got Saddam.

Aztlan backers see Hussein capture hoax

Just imagine what CA would be like under Gov. Bustamante!

That is Sacramento under Democrat domination. Maybe, just maybe, the people will get the idea, and change the Legislature like they changed the Governor. One can only hope.

That is correct. We were not going to get spending caps, despite what Ahnold's enemies in the Republican Party claim. Go Ahnold!

41 - FO, why are some FR women ashamed or try to hide the fact that they are women?

In most cases it is fairly easy to determine the sex of the poster, just by what they say and how they say it.

Why do you think when you go to a party of couples, that the women end up in one room talking to themselves and the men end up in another room talking to themselves, and a good host/hostess has to constantly try to keep them 'mixed'?

I thought the subject of this thread was Arnold, Haynes, the CA financial crisis and the Democrats in the CA legislature.

Do you have any comment on that?

Not really. California was a big mess when I lived there, which is why I came back to Texas. And it appears it is a bigger mess than ever.

Besides, it's more fun to try to get you to answer a question I have been wondering about for some time (since you brought it up).

He has already been taking his agenda to the people directly

He has?

Where? When? Via what medium? Television? Radio? Print? Web?

I have neither seen nor heard hide nor hair of him since he was inaugurated. The only news I ever see about him is on this forum. (Don't ask me to pick up the L.A. Times. That stuff isn't fit for pet litter.)

CA is the world's fifth largest economy.

It's my understanding that California was the world's 5th largest economy. Last I heard, under Gray Davis, it became the world's 6th largest economy.

Probably a lot like it is today: overrun with illegals, bloated with socialist programs, and taxed to the gills.

I don't take much comfort from bad situations by trying to imagine worse ones.

Note the positive tone of Haynes article, vs. the whiny, accusatory, unrealistic, unhelpful tone of the McClintock articles and compare the two.

Ah, the McClintock bashing is starting.

But McClintock isn't playing the Vichy card to the Dems' blitzkrieg strategy. That's Arnold's "brave" and daring gambit.

CA is the world's fifth largest economy.

With the fall of the Soviet Union, CA is the most powerful socialist state on the planet.
