Republican presidential nominees 2008

Posted on 12/19/2003 2:58:48 AM PST by Reader of news

I think President Bush will be re-elected next year surely. Nevertheless, there is not any sure candidate for Republican presidential nomination in 2008. I think John McCain, Jeb Bush, Rick Perry, Condoleezza Rice, George Pataki and Bill Frist may be candidates.

Don't count your chickens.

Clark or Clinton may be on the 04 ticket. This will be a fight.

I wish he would run and I would definitely vote for him, but most Republicans will not vote for him simply on the abortion issue. He is pro-choice.

I wish he would run for senator or VP. I do not think he could win Republican presidential nomination. I like Jeb Bush or Condi were the Republican nominee in 2008.

The only TRUE Conservative in the wings is Rick Santorum, but his time has not yet come. Sure could use him, though.

Rudy would have broad, powerful appeal to the unwashed masses who are essential to any presidential election. Besides, I think he would make the second best president to wage the war on terror.

Another conservative is John Ashcroft. He may run for president in 2008. I like him were the nominate too. He could win the primaries, but he could not win the presidential election.

My guess is that if Clinton is on the ticket then they will give Rudy the VP slot. If the dems actually do commit suicided with something like a Dean/Gephart or Dean/Leiberman then Cheney will step in. They may draft a soutthern Sentor as VP (I know, I know) and then I do not know. It will be a terible fight. I hope that Bush and Co. are readu for it.

I'm of the opinion that Cheney will step down midway during Bush's 2nd term. Once that happens Bush will pick a new VP who it will be indicated should be the frontrunner for 08. My view is that it'll be Condi Rice. It would drive the Rats even more nuttier if she picked JC Watts as her VP! Besides the fact that they'd make an intelligent and great team.

What makes you think that Cheney isn't looking towards 2008?

Condi, of course! Nice to think of J.C. Watts, as well. But he needs to get that Senate seat, first.

But let's wade through '04 first, okay people?

Be Seeing You,

Chris

The best prep for being Prez is to be a governor. The last time a man went to the presidency directly from the Senate was in 1960. While I like Jeb Bush, it would be a dumb thing to nominate him. American's do not like dynasties. Condi Rice has little executive experience.

Cheney is a good man but he would be kind of a thorn in the side of Bush's 2004 campaign. Plus the health reasons may put some people off. He obviously won't be the Republican nominee in 2008 so it would be best to get the most likely 2008 Republican nominee some experience in the Whitehouse.

A sanctimonious fraud who would be even more disasterous as President. Thankfully, I don't think he could ever win....at least I hope so.
