That was an inappropriate jest.

I certainly didn't mean it that way when I wrote it. Although I can see, now, what you are talking about. My apologies. It was meant as a jest, but not even in the way it appeared to you, others, and upon a second look, me. Lemme start over:

My condolences to Brett...I respect him as a great QB even though some of his best games were against my favorite team!

It's nice to hear someone who isn't a Packer fan praise Brett's playing. A lot of people can't bring themselves to admit how great he is. Thanks for doing that - from a lifelong, Lombardi-era Packer fan (though I was a small child in those days, my Packer roots are that deep).

To the Favre family: My deepest condolences.

I'm down here south of the Cheddar Curtain with you and I completely understand the respectful jest. Brett has done a lot in GB and we all enjoy him except for certain days of the year.

Condolences to the Favre family and hope for their comfort in time of pain.

I am a huge Packers fan and, obviously, have been thrilled by Brett's play on the field. And, I understand your feelings about his best games being against the Bears. I understand, because I remember so vividly the games another great always had against the Packers. Walter Payton always seemed to have a special energy against the Packers. I HATED what he did to the Packers. But, as a football fan, I loved the athlete. He was so fantastically special. When those great ones are gone, something goes with them. We need to savor their play on the field (even when they play against "our" team).

I in no way thought your remark was innappropriate.

God bless the Favre family.

Lando
