Over a century ago, dashing, handsome Captain Errol FReepbooty roamed the Caribbean Spanish Main, amassing a fortune in treasure beyond belief.

Bahama Mama came into possession of his map of buried treasure, and by methods which will remain forever untold, she uncovered some of his priceless artifacts while digging clams on her beach......and she's bringing this loot on board the freeper ship, Zuiderdam, to share with her freeper mates.

For the entire week of FReeps Ahoy, there'll be two booty drawings at dinner time every night. There'll be a drawing at the freeper cocktail party, and quite a number of drawings at the FRN activism program.

You'll never know when a lusty freeper buccaneerette will tap you on the shoulder and say, "Avast, matey, the luck of the lot is with ye tonight."

The booty coming on board is a dark secret for now, but with Bahama Mama's permission, we'll whet your appetites by revealing three of the prizes that have withstood 150 years of sand, sea and salt....treasures that will soon find a final destination in the possession of some lucky freepers.

See next post.......

The heavy, ornate freeper treasure chest is so full it will cause a list to port on the Zuiderdam.

The priceless items were pirated by the handsome, dashing Captain FReebooty from the following horrified but generous freeper donors:

BIZZY BUGZ

BOB J

CARLO3B

CYBER LIBERTY

HOOSIER MAMA

MINUTEGAL

OSWEGODEEE

SLIP 18

THE SHREW

Many thanks, me hearties!

The wife and I just took a Caribbean cruise down to St. Thomas recently (among other stops). We took the excursion to St. John and Trunk Bay, too. It was very, very beautiful. Definitely worth the time and money, and I DEFINITELY recommend doing the snorkeling there. The reef and the fish are beautiful. There's also food/drinks/bathrooms no more than 100 yards back from the beach, too. Very beautiful, lots of fun, I highly recommend it.

Thanks for your comments, Snakey. In my opinion, if there's a tropical paradise among tropical paradises, it's St. John. It is SO beautiful. The water is so clear, and the snorkling is perfect right off the white sand beach you're lounging on. If you wade out to the reef on some bay beaches, you may see thousands of brilliantly-colored fish even without a snorkel.

You can take the ferry or a cab to any beach (I like Cinnamon Bay and Trunk Bay) and swim, sun or snorkel there for a couple hours. I like to sit on the sand and just look, look, look around......the panoramas in St. John are THAT breathtaking. A treat for the eyes and balm for the soul.

There's a great shore excursion you can sign up for at the Holland America tour kiosk on board. You'll be taken to St. John by ferry from where we dock in St. Thomas. Air-conditioned buses are waiting. You'll pass the white sands of Trunk Bay, Cinnamon Bay and Caneel Bay, see incredible foliage, a National Forest, plantation ruins and other sights. This is a four hour tour (part land, part sea) and costs $49. The tour ends up at the quaint village of Cruz Bay where you'll have time to look around, shop, grab a bite before the ferry takes you back to St. Thomas and the Zuiderdam.

There are other shore excursions you can book for both St. Thomas and St. John. Or you can explore on your own. If you want to sign up for tours in any of our ports, I recommend doing as soon as possible after you get on board and settle in. Some tours, such as this St. John ferry/bus spectacular are very popular and fill up fast.

You'll find detailed information on all shore excursions and where and how to sign up for them in your cabin on embarkation day.

Trip looks great Bob. Unfortunately, the timing is all bad for me. Kid graduating, looking at colleges, reviewing scholarship offers, etc. Some day, if God wants, I will do this.

Sure hope you all have a good time.

I'll call your secluded beach shot and raise you one historic places pic. Then throw in a horse riding in the ocean to boot!

Don't forget the beautiful sunsets.

When SYNCRO gets near water he gets....ya know....kinda wierd.

Hay! Watch it, it is not only water.

But in the Caribbean on the wave runner I saved my passenger from the GIANT Shark and was proclaimed a hero for doing so.

She held on tight and begged me not to let her fall off as we were catching about 4' of air.

Since when was it only around water?

LOL, you got a point there Smert...but weird (that's the way to spell it chesty...if you were weird you would know...not that you are normal or anything like that) is what appears in front of my camera:

Nice hat c-p...

One size fits all???

Dixie: ...the manicure and pedicure...

The pedicure was OK but the Man A Cure was...not a cure. Oh yea, the sea...it is nice to have experienced both oceans, swimming in Fla and SC (pesky little jelly bugs are hard to out swim though...LOL) and the Pacific too.

You guys ought to come this year, last year there was a jet ski with my name on it..

(Oh BTW, check your email for some never before published pictures.)

Thanks for posting that great cabin pic just above, D1.

Holland American cabins are the roomiest of virtually all cruise lines plying the Caribbean.

Shown above is a verandah cabin on FReeper Row. You can get a slight glimpse of the balcony. The on-shore buildings visible through the sliding glass doors are the shining towers of Shangri-La, our dream getaway destination. It's waiting for us!

Holland America non-verandah inside and outside cabins are the best at sea. If you book one immediately, you'll be automatically upgraded to an outside cabin WITH a verandah like the one pictured above at NO extra cost. The verandahs fill up quickly, so this upgrade offer can be yanked any time as we get closer to the end-of-May embarkation date.

If you register now, you'll also find a $50 on-board credit sitting in your shipboard account for you to spend as you wish. This $50 credit is per PERSON, not per cabin....goody goody.

Phone Wanda at toll-free 1-800-890-7583 right away to reserve a perfectly-located cabin while they're still available. She'll patiently answer all your questions, find the best budget deal for your needs and getcha all ready to go.

If you so desire, she'll find a good air fare for you (man, there's some good deals right now). She'll also take care of your reservation at the Ft. Lauderdale Embassy Suites if you want.

Early-bird Freepers arriving on Friday will enjoy one low price for hotel suite accomodation, free cocktail party, free complete hot breakfast buffet next morning.....and best of all, free courtesy van from the airport to the Embassy on Friday, plus free van to the Holland America terminal next morning. Such a deal!

I also want to add that all Freepers living in the Ft. Lauderdale area are invited to drive over and visit with us at the Embassy on Friday night. If you can, partake of dinner or an adult beverage with us. This will be a fun evening for all!

And then, next day......SAIL ON, O SHIP OF FREEP!

IMPORTANT NOTICE TO ALL REGISTRANTS!

Early-birds arriving in Ft. Lauderdale the day/evening before embarkation, please take note:

The Comfort Inn near Port Everglades has a much better deal than the Embassy Suites for our group's accomodations. WE WILL NOT BE BOOKING THE EMBASSY.

The Comfort Inn room is $62 dollars plus tax which will total around $68 plus or minus. Each of us will save about 40% on a room charge with this change (the more to spend in St. Thomas, heheh).

There's complimentary courtesy van service from the airport to the Inn and then to the cruise terminal on Saturday morning.

The Comfort Inn room has coffee maker, ironing, hair dryer, safe, HBO. There's a poolside Tiki bar and bistro. No dinner restaurant, but restaurants are all around the Inn and across the street. Free hot-cooked breakfast with omelet station on site for us in the morning.

THOSE OF YOU WHO HAVE ALREADY REGISTERED FOR THIS CRUISE but have not made your Friday night accomodations arrangements, please phone Wanda right away to book for the Comfort Inn. Her number is 1-800-890-7583.

Details on where to find the Comfort Inn courtesy vans at the airport and at what times they shuttle will be posted as soon as this info is available to us.
