Dean Left Speechless on Libya Arms Move

Libya's decision to give up its weapons of mass destruction is making it harder for Democrats such as Howard Dean to disparage President Bush's war against Iraq, which prompted Libya's move.

Mr. Dean, the front-runner for the Democratic presidential nomination, has been uncharacteristically silent about Mr. Bush's bombshell announcement on Friday that Libya has agreed unconditionally to relinquish its chemical-, biological- and nuclear-weapons programs.

I heard Alan Colmes try to make the argument like "doesn't this just show that diplomacy is the more effective way to get these countries to disarm?"

Even as he said it you could tell from his tone of voice that he knew it was ridiculous.

The field of announced and unannounced Democratic Party contenders for their Party's Presidential candidate nomination is so weak that now even Gary Hart is considering jumping into the race at this late stage.

The Democrats' complete failure to originate a new positive idea for America (or even a new policy), combined with negative associations of all of their "leaders" due to years and years of non-stop mudslinging, has reduced their candidate pool so low that social misfits like Carol Mosely Braun are actually taken seriously by the more radical among their own extremists.

If Lieberman actually had a snowballs chance in Hell of winning the nomination, I'd be a bit concerned. But since Howard the Dean is running away with it, I sleep better knowing that Dubya is all but assured a landslide reelection.

This is a great piece for all of the "war never solves anything" camp.

I will do whatever the Americans want because I saw what happened in Iraq, and I was afraid.- Moammar Gadhafi

Can't get any clearer than that.

This is amazing. Here is Gadhafi saying that Operation Iraqi Freedom was the sole reason for his decision to cash in his WMDs. And, Dean is speechless.

I've said it before, I'll say it again: Bush will be re-elected in 2004 by double digits.

I guarantee it.

you know people are nothing but partisan when they find fault in success...

i at least give Lieberman a bit of credit for acknowledging the fact that Saddam gone makes us safer...

the other thing that amazes me about some of these people (especially Kerry) is that they can't fathom that different tactics can be used in this war on terror, that one tactic may actually strengthen another.

The only alternative for the conspiracy-theory Left is to claim that Libya is just feinting the way that North Korea did when they agreed not to pursue a WMD program earlier (fool me once...?). However, to do that, they would also be disparaging Clinton and Carter (so what else is new?).

Would it play in Peoria?

"I will do whatever the Americans want because I saw what happened in Iraq, and I was afraid," Mr. Gadhafi told Italian Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi

The only sort of "negotiations" absolutely guaranteed to work worth a damn in the Middle East. :)
