Yes, don't leave Gregory Hines out of the list. Best known for tap dancing in a recent aspirin commercial, and the film "White Nights" with Mikhail Baryshnikov.

Sheb's on the list. The last movie I saw him in was
Hoosiers, one of my favorites. He also sang under the name Ben Colder. He used to do some great parodies of country songs. Here's part of one I remember.
Fifteen Beers Ago
Not so long ago I came into this bar.
It's the busiest spot in this here town by far.
You have to wait your turn for the little room in back, you know,
And I've been sitting here since fifteen beers ago.
Then a lovely girl said "would you dance with me?"
I said "yes I would", then she gave me a squeeeeeze
As we danced around the room, I said, "Oh Lord, don't let it show"
It takes a mighty patient man, to wait in line, and ring his hands,
When he hasn't been since fifteen beers ago.
If you remember the old song, Fifteen Years Ago, it's a terrific parody, helped by the fact that he really could sing. Here's to Sheb.

Great link.
I was surprised to see a few deaths which I had somehow missed during the year - - Edwin Starr, Larry Hovis (Carter from "Hogan's Heroes"), Stanley Farara (Beaver's friend Whitey), Leon Uris.... and a few others.
There are also SAM PHILLIPS[sun records], singer ED TOWNSEND[For Your Love].

Gordon Jump, actor best known as the Maytag Repairman, died September 22 at the age of 71. Bah, he'll always be remembered as Mr. Carlson, and on his headstone should be engraved "As God as my witness, I thought turkeys could fly".

That was one of the funniest lines in the history of television. BTW, it's not my list, it's one I found. Another great line from WKRP was when some big handsome guy was talking about how names were important, because they determined what your whole personality and outlook on life would be like, and then asked Les Nessman what his name was. The silence and look on his face before he finally said, "Les" was priceless.

Actually, I think there were a lot of them this year. The one that bothers me is Strom Thurmond, ultra conservative I don't see David Brinkley, ultra liberal news journalist written here!

Maybe we should have a Freeper deadpool next year. Who's in?
I'm already in one. Do you think Yahoo runs them like they do sports picking contests? >:)

I'll always have a soft spot for Dave Brinkley after the way he slammed X42 on the air on Election Night in '96. That was hillarious, with Peter Jennings trying to cut him off.
