STAMFORD, Connecticut (AP) --A 2-year-old model and actor who cut his head at a playground is seeking unspecified lost wages and other compensation from the city.

Konrad Mader of Greenwich was running toward a treehouse at a playground November 4 when he crashed into a railing, according to a claim filed last week by his mother and reported Friday by The Advocate of Stamford. The blond toddler received several stitches.

It's always a hardship for the family when your toddler can't get work....

It's hard to judge a case like this without seeing a picture of the injury. But I think we all agree the settlement should be based on the degree on injury to the child, not on his potential wage-earners as a 'model.'

A 2 year old prodigy? He must be a born genius to excel at acting at such a tender age.

A child that beautiful should never be on a playground in the first place.

As a result, the city will mandate parents should equip 2-year-old children with safety helmets. Bad move, mother.

"...I think we all agree the settlement should be based..."

What settlement?? The mom ought to be embarrased that she wasn't keeping her kid under control.

Courts are for REAL cases.

No wonder why playgrounds across the country are being torn down.

Idiot parents.

It's OK if your kid gets hurt once in a while, you know?

She's suing the city for her own dumb kid's klutziness?

Little kids fall and hit their heads. They get up and they fall again. That's why they are called toddlers. If his career is that important she should not have let him play on the play ground.

There should be no settlement, NONE.

The kid hurt HIMSELF on a playground.

There is no playground on earth that is 100% foolproof against injury.

Kids get hurt playing. That is a simple fact of life. The idea that someone should get paid because of a playground injury is beyond absurd.

I would think a career as a toddler model would be very short ---- there would be no guarantee at all he'd model after outgrowing that stage. Sort of like child singers and actors.

In a letter to officials, she demanded compensation for medical bills, pain and suffering and a "lost wage amount due to his inability to audition or take modeling or commercial jobs while his head heals."

The woman isn't a damn bit worried about the kid, she's only worried about how this is going to affect her wallet. Pretty sleazy.

I saw a documentary once on the Discovery Channel that profiled these Jon Benet-style actor/model kids and their parents. On the part of the parents, I've never seen a more disgusting display of bad behavior in my life. Every parent comes out the auditions screaming and cussing because they all "know" that their kid was the best one there and the judges are all a bunch of scumbags and the whole thing is probably fixed blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah...

Every one of those parents should be locked up for child abuse. None of the kids wanted to do this crap, they were pushed into it by parents who wanted fame, glory, and money through their kids because they have already failed at life and are not likely to turn it around. Makes me sick. /rant off
