Israel in touch with Sweden over MP's arrest
By HERB KEINON
Israeli Foreign Ministry spokesman Yonatan Peled said the ministry was in contact both with the Swedish Foreign Ministry and the Swedish embassy about the arrest of Swedish MP Gustav Friedolin.
Friedolin joined dozens of Palestinians, Israelis and international activists at violent protest against the security fence near Budrus (Modi'in area) Wednesday morning. He was arrested for trespassing in a closed military zone.
Rocks were hurled at policemen during a violent protest against the security fence near Budrus (Modi'in area) Wednesday morning, prompting police to respond with rubber bullet fire. Several protestors and policeman were wounded in the exchange.
According to Peled, Friedolin a member of the Green Party - also took part in Friday's protest against the security fence that led to the shooting of Gil Na'amati.
The press duty-officer at the Swedish Foreign Ministry in Stockholm said the Swedish consul-general in Jerusalem was in contact with Friedolin.
The official said the ministry was waiting to see what would happen in the case, but understood that no formal charges would be filed.
The official said the Swedish government had "no comment" about the incident.
Asked if the Swedish government thinks it is appropriate for a Swedish MP to take part in these types of protests, the official said, "this is not something that is up to us. It is a decision taken on the part of a Swedish citizen, and we have no comment on it."
Friedolin, in an interview on Israel Radio, said he feels it is "important that members of parliament not only sit in their office, but also be where things happen, meeting with the people. Today I was here at the demonstration against the fence because not I nor any European government that I know of thinks that the fence is a good idea."

So does this mean that Sweden is with us or with the terrorists?
Just curious.

I don't know about Sweden. I don't think the Swedish Greens are with us, though.

Well, it did say his
hair was apprehended so what you are seeing is the "after" picture.
This is probably what he looked like before:

He should be given 5 years in a prison cell with some of his Palestinian comrades. This would certainly "raise his consciousness."

Friedolin should be declared persona non grata and deported. And barred from re-entry. Sheesh, if an Israeli MK took part in military sabotage in Sweden there'd be h*ll to pay. That lovely double-standard at work again.

In arab "suburbs" in Sweden, Police and Firefighters now get pelted with rocks when responding to calls.
Another formerly nice western country shoved down the toilet by open-border immigration policies.

The official said the ministry was waiting to see what would happen in the case, but understood that no formal charges would be filed. How about filing incitement charges against his hair?
