Only downside, is a lot of even conservative Republicans might recoil when they see what the "price of freedom" really is in this situation.

In that case, they would simply give up the ghost and die if they knew the "price of freedom" we paid in the 4-year reconstruction of post-WWII Germany and Japan.

Everything is right on schedule, and the positive results for us will be every bit as significant as the German/Japan results. Libya has already pre-emptively surrendered, and Iran is not far behind.

I am new here and hope I am not pulled for this comment. I lost my brother, in the Florida National Guard on April 17, 2003. Cpl John "Travis" Rivero.

This press remind you was put out by the Florida National Guard. The PR man "assigned" my family after my brother's death was the same who was later guilty of publishing false letters home in newspapers.

My brother's death was investigated by the Army and it was found that two of his fellow soldiers needed to be court-martialed (one for manslaughter). The men are still serving with his unit in Iraq. Yet, LTC Allen West was court martialed for saving his life and those of his men.

Even more scary is today I tried to pull up some of the newspaper articles that helped Travis's side of the story regarding what really happened to him, they are gone. Other articles are not but they are. Luckily my mom and I printed them, but it is not the same. I know it sounds crazy. If I wasn't personally in this situation I would not beleive it.

Oh, yes and we also have a copy of the offical army investigation. But these men will get away with the killing my brother, none of the media stories are accurate.

Additionally, how did you feel with are soldier were used under Clinton as ambassadors of good will. IT is not a soldier's job (especially a guardsman) job to rebuild a country or establish good will.

It is true the Florida Natl. Guard was on the ground in Iraq before the was even officially started. They took the Bagdad airport and several others. They chased the men on the deck of cards. 1 weekend a month, 2 weeks a year.

They are remarkable men and women and they are being remarkably used.

Why? They are cheaper than regular Army. They can be split up more readily than a regual Army unit. And they don't get the same R&R and leave time as regular Army.

Apparently, they do not get justice either.

Having thus said my peace. I feel deeply for every soldier in their situation. I told Travis before he left and I pray that these words never prove false (but with so much PR effort flying around it is hard to know the truth) that the war was just. I told him that if an insane person was pointing a gun at you wouldn't attempt to talk him out of it but take attempts to save your life.

So, anything you see coming out of Iraq take with a grain of salt.

I apologize for all of the typos. Too emotional.

...but I'm sure no other military force has so successfully morphed from a lethal-force unit into "the best neighbor you could have".

You nailed it. These guys have been doing a fantastic job, and not only are their stories not covered on ABCCBSNBC, but they aren't appearing on cable either. When we think we are getting "more" of the story from cable, remember these pictures and the other stories about our fantastic warrior heroes that have been posted today, and get ready to write or make calls to FOXMSNBCCNN! They aren't being covered ANYWHERE! I've posted two of these articles on the Naval Intelligence Professionals webboard and gotten comments just like the one I wrote above! Active-duty and retired and not just Navy BTW, they aren't any more aware of these fantastic troops than we are......but now they are. LOL! Truthy

Only problem there my friend, is how to you "factor" in the deaths of our warrior heroes? How much "X" factor can you add in for each one? They don't translate to dollars, any way to Sunday.

I'm not being critical - it's just that when people start thinking dollars and cents, in proportion to benefit of crude oil, there's just no way to add in blood, sweat, tears, injuries, and deaths.
