I'm not going to bother getting all excited about the O'Reilly Factor anymore. He's boring. And I'm sure as heck not going to listen to his radio program anymore. Sheeeeeeesh! He's on some kind of an ego trip. He's against capital punishment, too. Doesn't make any sense.

O'Reilly probably thinks the AWB is all about banning fully-automatic rifles -- machine guns. I've spoken to many people about this ban, and even the politically knowledgable ones believe that this is in fact what the AWB is all about.....by a large majority.

there is no political will to reinstate the AWB

It's going to be part of a "Terrorism package." .....and who's going to be against terrorism-fighting bill in this day and age? That's how they're going to get it done. And Bush will sign it, just like he said he would.

My argument is literal and correct. A person is not a weapon...

Your argument is narrow and doctrinaire. A person is not the weapon, it's the organic whole of the army that constitutes a WMD. You seem to be under the mistaken impression that any large group of armed, aggressive, belligerents constitutes an "army." It's an honest mistake, but it is a mistake. Viking hordes were not armies.

I'm done with this though. Arguing this point with you is like the Seinfeld episode when everyone was trying to convince George the Trivial Pursuit answer card was a misprint.

Spain was never invaded by the "Moops."

"No, that's me screeching my hatred. It's my Hate Monkey."

I'd ask, but I really don't want to know.

No herpes. 17. Two girls at once. Mint. Russia, five times.

Those are the answers to the five most obvious questions I could think you'd want to ask.

Bill, Bill, Bill. You certainly showed your butt tonight...

Obviously Bill doesn't know a pop gun from an Assault Gun(tm). The mere fact that he spouted off about supporting the 2nd Amendment and rifles and handguns, but not those "ASSAULT GUNS", like they shot anthrax instead of bullets leads me to conclude that Billy sees our black guns as something "unrefined".

Well, Billy, as a former Marine, I don't find a pretty Winchester all that useful for my purposes - but I'll defend, to the death, your right to own one. In reciprocity however, I ask that you leave my preferred weapons alone. I own HKs and Colts - the blacker, the better. And whenever I'm on the line at the range next to some dweeb, just like you Billy, with a single shot pop gun, I just love to slam 20 7.62 rounds in the black in about 30 secs just to see the look of horror on their faces. I'm imagining that Billy is like most libs - they can't tell the difference between an Assault Gun and a Machine Gun.

And while I'm on that subject, MGs are fine by me as well. Machinegunners are great for the economy - just look at the piles of ammo they leave on the range and you have to know that they are spending the big bucks just to feed some of those beasts

I don't own HKs to blast Bambis - they are here for one purpose - to defend my family.

O'Reilly, why not cars?

"...I believe in car that have 4 cylinders engines,
so that people can drive their families around..."

"...when you get into the assault engines, the big
V16's engines, you're out on the fringe."

Well then they answered. But remember, I didn't ask.

The bottom line is that the people that would misuse military-styled 'assault weapons' to commit crimes or terrorism would just as soon get real full-auto weapons cheaply on the world market, or make them, or steal them. There's no way to keep terrorists or crazies from obtaining a weapon if they want one badly enough. There are 50 million Kalashnikovs out there alone.

So what good does it do to keep legal American gun store buyers from buying military-looking semiauto rifles that just happen to be the most reliable and practical rifles?

I have talked to a lot of misinformed people too. They honestly think if the AWB sunsets, there will be silencers and machine guns down at the Ace hardware.

I can't be "out on the fringes", since I don't own any big guns. All of them are less than 5 inch nominal bore diameter! What's this o'Rielly fellow know about big guns, anyway?

So should citizens have nukes now too because they're the most powerful weapons our government has?

Hey - don't knock 'em 'til you've tried 'em. :)
