One problem: MoveOn.org has the money of Soros and Hollywood stars and the recent history of staging giant protest marches that got network TV coverage. For this organization to equate (not compare) Bush to Hitler in such a public way after priming the angry Left with expensive propoganda really is gutter politics at anew level. Hardly equates with a cartoon posted 7 years ago on FR and seen by a thousand people.

Bush is turning out to far more of "a socialist" in his domestic policy than Clinton ever was. Clinton never did anything (though he tried in his first term) to rival the 400 billion dollar big government Medicare bill signed by Bush. That was socialism in spades.

By the way, I found the old Freeper threads to be rather amusing pictures, showing Clinton with a Hitler mustache next to Goehring, etc. Oh...let's not forget all those "Hitlery" jokes. These weren't ads in a technical sense but they were certainly never pulled. I am not complaining mind you. It seems rather strange for the same freepers who smiled (like me) at these threads to now complain when someone engages in tit for tat.

I exaggerated. They weren't ads. They were threads which, of course, were never pulled. Some of us oldsters remember them well and actually got quite a lot of laughs out of them. Free Republic used to have a rather "dangerous" sense of humor in those days. Now....it too often feels like reading sanitized publicity releases from the RNC.

Which, of course, is why the two situations are different. Yes, there are the mental midgets around here who compared Clinton with Hitler, spent good time creating stupid electronic finger paintings and spewed it all over (those threads still embarass me to this day), and call Hillary Clinton "Hitlery". There were also those of us who pointed out this was stupid hyperbole and gained nothing. But these were all individual opinions, which is, of course, what this site is all about.

The Moveon.org situation is quite different. They solicited ads for the express purpose of broadcasting them and then consciously chose those Bush=Hitler ads. Thus giving their support and approval to the message.

The commie coward bitches at MoveOn.org have no shame. If they equate President Bush with Hitler, they are either totally ignorant of history, or they are so fueled by hate and impotent rage they have are completely delusional. The latter is more likely. Their comparison outrages and angers me, but also amuses me on some level because it shows how truly desperate and ineffective the communist left has become. Their antics may cheer the far left of their party, but will only alienate middle America who views Bush as an effective and scrupulous leader.

I know. It should go over as good as those PETA ads with the animals as concentration camps members.

You know, they would be funny if they weren't so frightening. If they can't tell the difference between George Bush and Adolf Hitler, well, I guess that's why Rush calls them kooks.

I hate to give them the traffic, but.....

The related site that lists their 15 finalists in the "Bush in 30 seconds" contest clearly shows their depravity. Do people actually believe this crap? Someone must to have put these clips together.....

http://www.bushin30seconds.org/

And these people think the Democrats are their salvation? The end of times must be even closer than we think.

Ah....reminds me of all those Hitler ads (with Clinton superimposed) in the 1990s that were so popular on FR. We hardly have a leg to stand on when they do the same thing, do we?

I dont remember the adds, but I do remember the seething hatred here. I also am probably in the minority when I say that I dont like the term "Hitlery".

And just try to oppose smoking in a restaurant. Here on FreeRepublic, you'll be branded a Nazi in no time.

That's an outrageous lie!

The people we have branded as "Gnazis" (small minded inconsequential people) are people like you who approve of using the coercive power of government to force property owners (bar owners) to go smoke free regardless of whether they wish to cater to a smoking clientele or not.

We believe in property rights and freedom of choice. You do not.

The irony, of course, is that if Bush EVER decided to start parroting most of the NAZI party platform, the fringe left would be quite happy to see he's embraced a "socialist revolution"

To all the lib lurkers on FR, do you agree that "the State shall above all undertake to ensure that every citizen shall have the possibility of living decently and earning a livelihood; demand the nationalization of all trust, demand profit-sharing in large industries; demand a generous increase in old-age pensions; demand the maintenance of a sound "middle-class" for the entire state, the immediate communalisation of large stores which will be rented cheaply to small trades people, demand an agrarian reform in accordance with our national requirements, seek to agressively fight those who ork to the injury of the common welfare; believe that the State must assume the responsibility of the curricula of all educational establishments shall be adapted to practical life (in order to make it possible for every capable and industrious citizens to obtain higher education); specifically, demand that specially talented children of poor parents, whatever their station or occupation, be educated at the expense of the State; believe the State has the duty to help raise the standard of national health by providing maternity welfare centres, by prohibiting juvenile labour, by increasing physical fitness through the introduction of compulsory gymnastics and game, support the abolishment of the regular army , support a legal campaign against "high ranking officials" who propagate deliberate political lies and disseminate them through the press", and finally, do want to fight for a "positive view of religion without binding the country itself to any one particular confession, and fight against the Jewish materialist spirit within and without (you know, stop all those rich Jews who "control" Congress and the media, and get all that aid away from eeeeeevil Isreal" so we can "Free Palestine)

Really? You've just embraced the 1920 NAZI PARTY PLATFORM, written by Adolf Hitler! I'm sorry to report Bush hasn't pledged alliance to ANY of that yet, but there's hope you libs yet:

" COMMON GOOD BEFORE INDIVIDUAL GOOD -- In order to carry out this program we demand: the creation of a strong central authority in the State, the unconditional authority by the political central parliament of the whole State and all its organizations. The formation of professional committees and of committees representing the several estates of the realm, to ensure that the laws promulgated by the central authority shall be carried out by the federal states. "

Howie Dean is certainly open to that. Sieg Heil, liberalism! Anyone who calls themselves "Socialist Workers Party" (like the NAZIs, BTW), must have something going for them, eh?

Sadly, you are correct. Perhaps we are too far removed from Hitler, Stalin, Mao, and even Pal Pot, that we can make these comparisons. There are evil people leading countries in today's world but they can be adequatly judged on their own merits (or lack thereof) without making fools of ourselves. As much as I dislike the Clintons and Dean, they are not truely evil. (yes, I am ducking)

Just damn.
