I'm in SC but I am not sure...I assumed too that it was a GA tag. We are not that far from the GA border. I also heard they believed he may be on I-85

Amber Alert Issued for 3 Georgia Girls

The Gordon County Sheriff's Office and the GBI issued the Amber Alert after four were found dead in Ranger GA and the three girls were missing.
Three Georgia Girls
Brittney Phelps , a white 10 year old, Brandy Jones, a white four year old and Tammy Jones a white 3 year old were abducted in Ranger Georgia on January7 or 8.
Police are looking for Jerry William Jones a white male, 32 yrs., 5' 7" 150 lbs. driving a 1991 maroon Ford Explorer with the Georgia license plate 730YFZ.
Four people were found dead at the scene of the abduction and the suspect is considered armed and dangerous.
Anyone with information is asked to call Gordon County Sheriff's Office at (706) 629-1244 or dial 911.

Humm OK. I didn't know what to watch for. I'll be traveling I-10 west today. A main E-W route. I guess he's out of my area.

You better get Tennessee alerted to this too. Gordon County is much closer to TN than it is to SC. The Chattanooga metro area isn't far away either--much easier area to blend in to. I'm in Chattanooga and it's already being covered on TV.

Fox News is reporting the sighting of him in Marietta was erroneous. They don't know where he is.

MSNBC just reported that one of the dead is a 10 month old child. The three girls with him are his daughters. Let's hope he doesn't harm them in any way.

This is the closest photo to a '91 maroon explorer that I could find. Lots of 91's had a tan section at the bottom of each door similar to this green one.

FYI.... Due to the fact that I have been critical of the USE of the Amber Alert system in the past....I want to take the time to say that in this case the system was used correctly .... I wonder how many folks out there did not pay attention to this one because of the misuse of the system in the past...... Great JOB Amber Alert !!!! Keep up the good work !!!

Of course it will be overused but do you want to be the one to determine when it is or is not right to use it?
Maybe we will just have to incorporate noting the alerts same as we incorporate threat warnings. Better to let more eyes do the looking than not.
However, I don't think it is right to use in cases of parental fights over the children.
