You are correct about the legal point... but it is good to see that the same emotionall knee-jerk reactions apply when it comes to stereotyping and race.
The immigration policy that Bush has advanced seems to bringing out the best in Freepers. Bannings apply, too.

You must be reading something into the posts that is really not there...I am not stereotyping ( and as far as I can tell neither are other posters) and race hasn't been part of the issue at all...I would be just as unhappy regardless of who the illegals are. What immigration policy? all Bush has done is to say come on in the country's fine and we will help you avoid the laws. No effort has been made in the last 20 years to enforce the laws requiring employers to verify a workers eliginilty to work ( ie be LEGAL). My guess is you live in a state not being overrun by ILLEGALS who cost the society an enormous amount of money in supplied services and at least in California occupy a large section of our jails. 50% of the illegals in the US reside in California and a trip to Lancaster or any other small desert town will open your eyes ( or perhaps not). If you are a no border person then good for you...I do not subscribe to that political notion.
