No, but those citizens who decide to vacation or retire in Mexico, as well as the undocumented immigrants who do send their money home, it all or mostly all gets returned into the American economy through the purchase of goods made by American companies. And why not? It's their money. They earned it. They are free to dispose of it as they see fit, within reason.

Are you now a John McCain fan? I thought you loved Bush - the one who massacres the English language.

Why should people in border states such as California and Texas have to foot the tax burden of millions of aliens? This is demonstrably unfair and therefore un-Constitutional.

Bingo!
This is why in my list of more palatable solutions I included De-Regulation. The current cadre of labor laws is definitely part of this entagled issue.
Immigrant labor is a backdoor past those regulations. This may be cynical, but many Republicans who call out "Save out Jobs" and who by nature are oposed to being told what to do might just oppose this action not because of Xenophobia, but because they will have to enroll their workers into workers comp.
Doesn't the Bush plan help to defray some of that risk of using illegal labor? I am curious, are you in support of legalizing these workers, and just enjoying debating me on the economics or vice-versa?
The McDee's folks should do it because they would DOUBLE THEIR WAGE. But you are right, they could near TRIPLE IT and charge $14. Then maybe a price war will erupt and we can get some reasonable prices for brush clearing around my parts!

Are you now a John McCain fan? Nope. I make lemons out of lemonade. And you're clueless if you don't think that money will find a way. It always has, always will.
I thought you loved Bush - the one who massacres the English language.
As I said: Bush makes himself understood to everybody else.
What the hell's the matter with your ears?
Besides, we had a glib president, and he was an immoral pervert.
I'll take plain speaking over double-talk.

And where do you propose we find the troops to man the border? Is O'Reilly going to volunteer or are you?
We cannot even deploy the necessary troops without going to the Reserves and National Guard.
Love it when you all just want to call out the military, but news for you and others -- not enough military to go around and don't want to hear we need to bring everyone home either -- that would be a prescription for more disaster.

Why dont you state some facts so we can argue about semantics instead of just throwing out phrases?
To: Cultural Jihad
That may be true, but there's another thing that the American worker under the table has going for them:
They can usually speak fluent english. They won't pretend to not understand you if there's an issue with the quality of the the work they've done.

I agree that immigrant labor is a backdoor past these regulations. That's why I wonder why anyone who just wants cheap labor would support this action--once those workers are legal they can demand more money for their services.
As far as whether I support this action or not, I think there's a deeper issue that needs to be dealt with: Mexico needs to unscrew their government and their economy so their citizens can find jobs at home.
To: brianl703
So the solution is to ban the speaking of Spanish? Or the non-comprehension of English? Good luck, amigo! (Oops. Gotta pay a fine to the Trancrepo Police now!) Seriously, if you think language is such a barrier to getting the type of work you need done then don't hire anyone who cannot speak or read or understand fluent English.
