Clear Channel's first, and only priority in programming is that which makes them money. If a flaming liberal got them ratings and revenue on a particular station, in a particular market - they"d run with it. This guy's show was probably not well rated, and it came to a point where he was costing more than he was brining in, and got the hook.

You make the mistake that being anti-war in the case of Iraq is the same as being anti-war anytime anyplace for any reason. Nice attempt at tar brushing. Like I said I am pro Iraq mission up to a point but I am not so partisan to tar anti-Iraq war conservatives becuase unlike leftist anti-warites - conservatives against the war have laser focused reasons for opposition (whose reasons I may not approve) of do center around what is good for America rather than based on a world socialist anti-war agenda.

Maybe. Clear Channel is so big I wonder if ratings matter? As someone in marketing I have known for some time that in the radio business of today ratings do not matter as much because you are not competing directly with others.

No it isn't, it was total tinfoil. I know a lot of people who are not freepers who couldn't stand the guy. He was so ill-informed it was embarrassing to listen to him. I was relieved when they moved him. It was not just about Bush and the war he was ill-informed about, it was local matters as well.

I'll be glad to know he's gone. I used to switch my radio off when I had to go shopping or drive anywhere in the evening.

Perhaps if the guy read more he wouldn't find himself unemployed. The fact that he's blaming Clear Channel is your first clue. He just got caught in too many mis-statements IMHO.

The only thing that matters to Clear Channel is money, and making it. They do whatever it takes, in each market they're in - to make money. Rate structures in broadcasting are ratings driven.

I've never heard Goyette on the air, but if his writing is any indicator of how he runs his show, then I'm not surprised he's being eased out. His ratings must be in the toilet.
