[history]
DES MOINES, Jan. 10 -- Iowans have never seen a political battle like the one that has begun to unfold here, a massive voter mobilization operation that will decide the outcome of the Jan. 19 Democratic caucuses and demonstrate whether Howard Dean's grass-roots movement translates into superior strength at the ballot box.
Dean's energized volunteer brigades, streaming into Iowa in unprecedented numbers, are pitted against a tough and motivated legion of industrial unions that have banded together behind the candidacy of Rep. Richard A. Gephardt (Mo.). Two other campaigns have put together serious ground operations, according to veteran Democrats. Sens. John F. Kerry (Mass.) and John Edwards (N.C.) both hope to spring a surprise in the caucuses and their organizations -- particularly Kerry's -- have impressed veteran Democrats in the state.

Sorry about the paragraphing I used autoexcerpt.

I have seen the assorted troglodytes wandering about here in Ames. One of the people donning a Dean button had so many piercings it looked as though he had fallen face-down into a tackle box.

Democrats Flood Iowa With Ground Troops Unprecedented Numbers Deployed for Caucuses This was a "unilatteral" invasion of ground troops? No help from France or New York?

There was a news story about the Dean supporters using the Dean gatherings in bars to meet people of the opposite sex. The socially inept using Dean to get laid. I don't know if that is funny or just plain pathetic.
Could these rejects be the same people who were the perot and nader supporters?
Bringing in extra people does smack of ballot stuffing.

Wonder how Iowans like being invaded by the UN and French loving crowds.

Dean supporters would only be trying to meet people of the same sex.

I have never been one to become involved with politicians, as I have no trust in them and for the most part think of them as nothing more than slick "used car salesmaen." After, watching the Democrooks in Iowa, I shall continue that view. I will continue to vote for a Republican, as a lesser of two evils, or a Republican as the ONLY way to go.

More likely someone loaded up an old Ithica 12 guage with cheap jewlery and shot him in the face. Seen the same thing from the two guys that delivered my new fridge. Scary

If it would help get rid of them, I would call in the air strikes myself.
You cannot believe some of the commercials running here.. Good Lord give me patience until these miserable rats leave.

I would believe anything from demons.
Our east coast media is going after Dean big big time for not having black people in his cabinet in Vermont.
As much as I despise the lying ba$tard, that is just ridiculous. They are even giving it more play than O'Neil's remarks about President Bush.

That is a very valid issue which would NOT be covered by the media. (not even FNC) It would be a PC hot potato. (potatoE Bwahhahahahah)
The idea of the original Dean volunteers were all internet junkies. The orignial Dean volunteers were in these gatherings which were intended to get more volunteers. Decend on the bar and start to chat up the candidate and chat up potential sex partners.
Dean would have a built in IN with the homosexuals as a signor of vermont's civil union bill in response to the court order. Homosexuals frequently use their bar connection as a means of passing information about candidates and petitions.
They used the bars to fight the narrowly defeated voter effort to repeal the special homosexual rights in Miami-Dade County.
You may have been trying to joke but you may be closer to a deafeningly silent truth.
To: nonliberal
You are right that the Dean imports stick out like sore thumbs here in Iowa. Any contention that they could easily blend in with the caucus goers is flat wrong except for maybe in Iowa City.

At the bars that I frequent in Ames, if one came in wearing a Dean button, he would be in for an argument.
