I would like to examine the word "quagmire" and find out what exactly it means. If a quagmire is a situation we feel we are stuck in (and will be for a time to come), then Iraq is a quagmire. If a quagmire is a situation that we are stuck in, and it is going badly, then I don't think Iraq is one. I suppose if people use a twisted definition of the word (not knowing any better) it might seem perfectly obvious to them that no matter how well the situation goes in Iraq, it is a quagmire, merely because we are committed to the country. Interesting and thoughtful take on the matter. Well, if they consider a long-term commitment to any endeavor to be a "quagmire," I'm left to wonder if they consider marriage, child rearing and seeking to lead a moral life to be "a quagmire."
It would explain a great many things about the Left... ; )

Heh... that sums it up nicely.
One difference between the liberation of Afghanistan and Iraq vs the Korean and Vietnam conflicts is the lack of a superpower opponent.
