Just heard on CNN that Ann [Silver Foot in Her Mouth] Richards is going to endorse Howard Dean.
First AlGore.
Then Jimmy Carter.
Now Ann Richards.
Can't Dean get any Democratic WINNERS to endorse him?

The pompous, preening, pugnacious Park Avenue populist will be lucky to pull 40% in Texas.

This should make him an immediate success and take Texas out of play for any of the other democrats... That's possible. I don't know if Ann Richards still commands the respect of Texas Democrats like she used to, but there really is no leader of the Democrats in Texas anymore.
The next closest person is Dan Morales, but he's sitting in a federal penitentiary in Texarkana this evening.

"a little wager?"
Good one!
Hey, but it is his ideas, not his size which should bother us. I'm 5'6" and turn twenty in less than two weeks, so I'm tall-challenged. :)

I'm sorry my friends, but the really big news will come later in the year, at the annual "Thank God, Paul Wellstone Is Still Dead" gala celebration and dope tasting party. My sources tell me that on the second night, during the full moon, the ghost of Paul Wellstone will also endorse Dean. What's more, Paul will also praise Dean for all the late term abortions he and his wife are rumored to have performed on poor black girls from NYC, Boston and Quebec.

Wouldn't it be funny if after all these endorsements he looses the nomination?

Well it may happen that she can deliver Texas to him but honestly I was being sarcastic about Wesley and his whipping President Bush statement and should have included a </sarcasm> tag... I agree that the Democrat party lacks statewide leadership or so it seems to me. When you are out of office such as they have been for several years now it falls to the state party organization to become the leaders and it seems they have failed.....

There is hope for the Democratic party. Even though their beliefs are all wrong for America, they are now in the process of cutting out the cancer that is the Clintons.
It's a good first step. It's bad enough that Marxism/Socialism has been launched on America. The Clintons are a criminal element that must be eliminated.

You are both right.
The Texas Dem party is in serious disarray.
Their farm team is weak and they state level is something like 29-0 Republicans.
All the black and hispanics elected at the State level in the last 10 years have been Republicans.
And now, unless all the dead people of Texas rise up in indignation, the GOP redistricting may well knock another leg of political stair-climbing from the Democrats, the end of the white Democrats that used the minority vote to cover for the fact that 2/3rds of white voters dont want what they are selling. If that scam is taken away, the Democrats have the unenviable task of "selling" very liberal minority senators as statewide candidates. The state will barf on that. ...
I am in the camp of having more respect for Dan Morales than any other Dem officeholder. Ironically, he's now a convicted felon. ... it only goes downhill from there on the Dems' list of candidates.
On the GOP side, we're lucky with our bench strength. I like Gov Perry and I like Dewhurst. Plus enough guys in the wings like Sen Todd Staples or Jerry Patterson that even losing the top to some other post (eg a VP Perry some day) wouldnt hurt. Susan Combs and Strayhorn are too liberal IMHO, so I dont want them as either senator or gov. Other than possible internal pickering tearing apart the GOP, we've got a strong team for another 6-8 years. (perry 2006, dewhurst 2010). Kay B H likely to stay in the senate imho too. The only hope for the Dems would be if Carole Strayhorn decided to bolt the GOP out of ego. Nah, it would be suicide for both.
against that, the Dem "dream team" in 2002 was a disaster. what's left? Maybe one of the Dems redistricted will run for state office? Long shot... Other than that, the Dems have to hope we screw up on immigration and turn more illegals into Dem-party-voting citizens, and wait for 2020 to roll around... DEMOGRAPHICS IS DESTINY!

Before this is over, Dean will be down to counting cul-de-sac support.
As far as the glowing endorsements of the usual suspect losers, they mistake fat a**es for gravitas.
