Why take over a country that is full of criminals?

Because it gives us more control than the status quo, and because the changes you and I want are not going to happen.

If you break the law in Mexico (or they simply decide to accuse you of breaking the law) you will be thrown in prison until they feel good and ready to put you on trial. In Mexico you are presumed guilty until proven innocent. Your family or friends may be able to get you out if they pay several thousand dollars in bribes to the authorities. The U.S. Gov. will do virtually nothing to help you. If you get cocky and start demanding things from Mexican authorities you might cut your prison time short ... and end up in an unmarked grave.

Doncha just love the reciprocity of international relations?

Your article is very thought provoking and disturbing. It angers me to the point of exasperation that our government is allowing this to happen. I blame the government because it appears that they (ruling elite) ignore the concerns of the american citizen regarding this matter, and are intent on destroying the sovereignty of this nation. It upsets me to think aout it, so I try not to.

Thank you for posting this. Many in the not-yet-invaded states need to read this!

If this mess is allowed to continue (and it seems that President Bush wants it to), the country we will be leaving to our children and grandchildren won't be America anymore, yet they will be the ones forced to pay for it. The takers will outnumber the givers = third world status.

Yes I do. And the most mind-boggling remarkable thing is, nary a peep about "international law", "justice" or any other damned thing from the self-styled "World" Court!

Reciprocity? Try buying landd or property in Mexico (and keeping it)!
We should reciprocity that concept toot sweet!

Yes, I know it's tout d'suite, but humor me...

"It upsets me to think aout it, so I try not to."

Not being rude or a smart mouth, it is this attitude that allows our politicians to continue to destroy our American culture and cast aside our sovereignty.

Unless you attend local political meetings and are willing to stand up in front of everyone telling the politician what you think he/she has done that upsets you,, they are going to think everything is just fine and you will allow them to change your community anyway they see fit. You will allow them to spend your tax dollars supporting illegal immigrant programs instead of calling the Border patrol and demanding that they be arrested and removed from your community.

When your children ask "Why does this happen here?", your only response will be, "Because I didn't have the courage to stand up in public and tell the City Commissioners that what they were doing was against the law and harmful to your future."

Was I nervous twenty years ago in front of my daughters school board when I told them I wanted drug sales on school property brought to an immediate halt?

You bet I was, but they started making arrests the very next week because they knew that I was speaking for at least 100 other parents.

Drug sales wasn't on the public schedule but after I spoke about it, nine other parents got up and decided to continue of the subject.

Take a look here and you'll see that I am vocal about the "not too popular" subjects. Why, because I care and I don't swallow garbage easily.

President Bush has done wonders bringing respect back to the Oval Office, but his performance on our border security and removing the illegal aliens from Americas soil is very, very poor.

I am attempting to get the word out to other Freepers about this and have them pass it on to their local politicians.

If we can get just town in America to call the Border Patrol and say, "We want a clean sweep through our town removing every last illegal alien and we want it done within a month. We're tired of paying all the associated costs that go with you folks doing a poor job and our community has been going downhill for too long. So, get some agents out here and get to work!"

That would show if one town can do it, so can another and another. Pretty soon they'll be taking on small cities and then larger cities until places such as Los Angeles are swept clean.

If you would like me to write an article about the disgusting situation regarding current reciprocity of international relations, I will. After we get things cleaned up in America.

What another government does isn't my major concern right now. I am interested in changing OUR governments behavior.

We all understand that illegal immigration is a bad thing. But there are those who think this program is a great way to get a handle on things.

I'm all in favor of tough enforcement, a guest worker program wouldn't work without it. But you'd get a lot more bang for your buck if immigrants and employers had another option.

Recognized and appreciated. And I'm in favor of SaberTooth's 18 point plan, which includes a guest worker program by the way, I just think that allowing current illegals in on it is a reasonable measure that smooths the transition to that system.
