Jihad in Houston

[How is it that only the Israelis know that World War III started on September 11, 2001?]

Sooner or later it was bound to happen — Jihad would come to the United States. (Not that it hasn't been here since the Oklahoma City bombing, mind you.) And by this statement, I don't mean attacks on America's infrastructure, such as the assault on the World Trade Center, the Pentagon, and the apparent attempted assault on the White House that occurred on 11 September 2001. No. I'm thinking of something much more simple than elaborate plans to fly commercial aircraft into buildings. I'm thinking of something as simple as the murder of a Jew by a Muslim. In Houston, Texas, no less.

The Muslim man has confessed to the crime, which his own roommate witnessed as a near decapitation of the Jewish victim.

Amazingly, the press is reporting that Houston police say they don't have a clue as to why he did it.

Honest, I'm not making this up....

The story made the January 12 edition of the Houston Chronicle and WorldNetDaily.com on January 13. According to the details of the reports, killer Mohammed Ali Alayed, a Saudi Arabian national, was in the US on a student visa when he slashed the throat of Ariel Sellouk, the son of Moroccan Jewish immigrants to the United States and a personal friend. Alayed "went to a local mosque after the killing."

I called the Houston Chronicle's Andrew Tilghman, who is assigned to the paper's Court House Bureau, to discuss the matter. Mr. Tilghman wrote the Chronicle story on the slaying. We discussed the puzzling statement that appears in paragraph three of the WorldNetDaily story, concerning the Houston Police Department's alleged inability to attribute religious motives to the slaying, despite the "religious reawakening" of Alayed to a "conservative, Islamic lifestyle".

Does one light a candle to see the sun?

It turns out, according to my interview with Tilghman, that the prosecutors chose not to pursue hate crime indictments because by doing so, the prosecutors risked complicating the case.

"Does it really matter why Alayed murdered Mr. Sellouk?" mused Mr. Tilghman during our conversation.

Good point, Andrew.

I concluded my conversation with Mr. Tilghman by suggesting to him that I'd attempt to send him a list of other Islam-motivated murders that have taken place within the borders of the United States of America since the Oklahoma City bombing. I didn't bother to mention that I won't count the 2,800 Islam-motivated murders that took place in the United States on 11 September 2001.

After all, as President Dubya points out, Islam is a religion of peace.

Concluding Thoughts We are Dar al-Harb* — and proud of it.

It's World War IV, and it started around the year 622.

Jihad in Houston

I thought this was a warning about the Super Bowl.

***

Superbowl XXXVIII takes place in Houston, Texas on February 1, 2004. This will also mark the one-year anniversary of the loss of the space shuttle Columbia. As a part of this year's game, there will be a tribute to the crew of STS-107. The families of Rick Husband, Willie McCool, Laurel Clark, Mike Anderson, Ilan Ramon, Kalpana Chawla and David Brown are expected to attend the game as guests of NFL Commissioner Paul Tagliabue.

According to the Houston Chronicle (1-12-04), operatic tenor Josh Groban will honor the fallen NASA Columbia crew with a performance of You Raise Me Up during the pre-game ceremony. Groban will be accompanied by an 80-member Houston choir. The crew of STS-114 including female shuttle commander Eileen Collins will join Groban on the field during the salute to NASA . As a part of this tribute, NASA is also considering presenting the missing man formation with their T-38 aircraft over Reliant Stadium (weather permitting).

As we have done since the day of this tragic loss, a portion of the proceeds from this page are donated to charity. For this event, we will make a donation to Challenger Center For Space Science Education.

Now, wait a minute. The FBI has told me PERSONALLY that Oklahoma City was DOMESTIC terrorism -- nothing to do with Muslims. No matter that Jose Padilla looks just like "John Doe #2" whom the FBI is no longer looking for and Terry Nichols made a trip to the Philippines just before the bombing (home of AlQaeda linked radicals).

The FBI agent sneered at me and told me that I was subject to media propaganda... But he also said that he didn't know who Jose Padilla was. When I commented that Jose was arrested in Chicago in the "dirty bomb" case, the agent just said, "Chicago is another district..." (He was speaking before a group in Milwlaukee -- 85 miles away.

Because they don't! They really don't! And neither does the Barnicle.

I'd like to see that list of other killings by Islamists in the US; Steven Emerson referred to a few in his book Jihad in America.

It seems to matter a whole lot in a lot of other cases Mr. Coverup.

I agree that we've had 4 World Wars but perhaps if we use your start date, this is really World War I still in progress (the other 3 wars were the European wars that eventually dragged in the US labelled "WWI" and "WWII", and the Cold War).

9.11.2001 was not the start of the current war. The US had been attacked on home soil before (and even the WTC had been bombed). 9.11.2001 marked a new leadership that responded to the attacks with some attempt at closure. Bill Clinton admitted that he pushed things off for the next administration to deal with; that is not leadership.

Why is this murdering raghead not facing the death penalty -- like most immigrant murderers (rightfully) do in this state?

Objection!

This is only hearsay with the flimsiest of so-called evidence!

As a matter of fact, for YEARS accusations (like those from michael rivero on this site!) flourished that it was the US Gov't that perpetrated this act.

When I read about this shortly after it happened, I puzzled over why the Houston P.D. wasn't pursuing the Islamic-Jewish angle. I assumed it was a homosexual domestic dispute. Weren't they roommates or something?
