Having lived here...I can tell you that if its a union situation...you as the boss can look at at least 60 man-hours of your time over the next 12 months involved in getting rid of just one employee. You have to document each situation...then you have to have a meeting with the employee. If its drug usage...then the employee is entitled by his healthcare program to ask for a treatment program, which can last 18 months...and you as the company must go along with this plan. If the guy fails the rehab....then you still have to go along with documentation. This is why so many German companies have contracted out their operations...if you have a trucking division, then you get rid of if and hire a company...and if they have major problems, you can terminate the contract with them easier than firing employees. Thats the sad thing about this whole country.

Want to tell me one good government program that isnt loaded with pork and waste? Dont come telling me about social security either..the money isnt there, its been robbed for other spending and the account is loaded with IOUs.
Its silly alright. So silly that its fooled people like I and you into trusting them to handle money and to spend it where it is needed. What is it? Less than 10 dollars out of a hundred gets to where it belongs? Now thats good management isnt it?

Just a living..Thats OK wiht you then its OK for me that you think that way. Would be nice to keep 80% of it though wouldnt it? Name how many taxes you pay each day. Fact is your taxed on each and every thing you do every day. Add those taxes up and you'll find that Fed, state and local taxes eat up just about 70 to 80% of your gross.
There's gas tax, there's phone tax, there tax on your clothes, tax on your income, tax on your roads, schools, heating, electric, cars, tires, food, even a tax on a tax-because if you got a refund last year thats considered income, your even taxed if your unemployed for Gods sake, you name it, its taxed.

Wouldn't the results be skewed, since logic tells us the pollsters would have the same attitudes?

#1 This is a reporton German attitudes.
Where are 70% of your earnings syphoned out of your pocket through taxes? In Germany, yes. Here, no.
The reason there are IOU's in Soc.Sec. is that there is a law allowing Social Security to invest in Government bonds only. Until we change the law to allow other forms of investments.............. Just think about the market if soc.se. was allowed to be invested in the private sector?
Without those "IOU'S" there would be no interest growth at all.
I don't like Government control whatsoever. I also believe that we as individuals have more power and can easily take care of our situations without government interference.
Having said that, you have to be realistic and can't paint everything black, make outrageous claims and not expect to be challenged on it.

Some people will NEVER get it. They just keep giving it up a little at a time till there is nothing left to give. You and I pay at least 70 to 80% of our earnings into taxes every year. Start a list and list all the taxes you pay every day on top of the fed, state and local taxes you pay yearly
Have a good day..and dont forget to pay your share.
