"She stated her husband had been yelling at her that morning to get her kid to school on time, and her kid had been crying,"

Well, there ya go, a perfectly acceptable excuse to break the law.

That cop should live around here. Between the hours of 7-8 am and 3-4 pm, you take your life in your hands if you're on the road.

"She stated her husband had been yelling at her that morning to get her kid to school on time, and her kid had been crying," Shockley said.

Ah, uh... well in that case, you're free to go! Sorry for the misunderstanding.

Driving from Poway to Del Mar is a loooong commute!

Could take an hour or more on any given day.

Sounds like a Kucinich backer with a Sharpton respect for law-and-order and hold the mayo. JMHO

The quintessential way today's parents teach their children to respect authority.

Here's another one that's going to try the "My husband told me to do something and I have to do it just the way he says" defense...well, we probably have the whole thing archived here for her somewhere...

Actually, it was on Friday I believe....that article had the woman driving a Volvo station wagon; hence your question is answered!

Sounds like this poor mom was set up to me. And what are these cops doing chasing a woman with a kid in the car? Should have just let her go and gave her a ticket later.

I bet they wanted to let the police dog sniff around the car for dope. I woulda left too. Probably charge her with theft for stealing the ticket book.

These cops are out of control, surprised one of those Jack Boots didn't shoot her.

Oh, for goodness sakes, he is a kindergartner. It won't be the end of the world for him to be a few minutes late. As for her yelling husband, I bet he's in a real fine mood now that she ran from the police and is jailed.

She had this kid at 39 is suffering a midlife crisis. Like the kid is interfering with her free spirit life style she has been accustomed to.

Good grief. She should have accepted the ticket and fought it in court or opted to go to traffic school so it wouldn't appear on her driving record. Instead, she upped to felony evading arrest and several other counts I think of. Apparently, she was in too much of a hurry to get Jr. to school on time to wait for the CHP cop to finish writing the ticket.

I wonder how long she spent grooming that morning rather than getting the kiddo ready for school and taking off early enough to get there?
