Another thing is forgotten or perhaps not realized is that the old NFL qb's which you mentioned called their own plays. There was no shuttling in of players to bring plays in to the qb. Also I believe that Terry Bradshaw was the last qb to call his own plays.

And it would seem that McNabb's injury was more serious than people thought.

Puhleeze.

McNabb suffered bruised rib cartiledge, an injury suffered by many a player each and every week.

Some players opt to go into the locker room and get a novacaine shot, which allows them to play the rest of the game pain-free.

And no, it would not have caused permanent damage.

I don't know about McNabb's playing ability, but after Sunday's game, his character should be called into question. Big Time.

Please read the article and read the post. REID took him out of the game...

And also name for me each every player from every week this past season who suffered a torn rib cartiledge (your words).

Last night I predicted that today, they would be blaming the injury and the receivers. McNabb is inconsistant and overrated. Period. Rush was right.

The person that hit him late had no idea that he had been touched before he went down. THE WHISTLE HAD NOT BLOWN. How can it be a late hit if the referee had not blown the whistle. Crybabies!

Sounds like Marriotti saw too much of himself in Rush's comments.

Or should have.

Actually, it was a SEPARATED rib cartiledge. Seems that would be more serious than a bruised rib...

Rush is a public figure. People are allowed to say that he "spews hatred" just as you are allowed to call a hollywood actor a "traitor." It's this thing called "freedom of speech"...

It's this thing called "freedom of speech"...

Freedom of speech does not cover slander, libel or Defamation. Neither does it cover inciting people to violence or obscenity.

Legal Terms - Slander

Slander Definition: A verbal statement that is defamatory. Slander is a civil wrong for which the court is open.

Legal Terms - Defamation

Defamation Definition: An intentionally false communication that causes injury to another person’s good name or reputation. To be defamatory, the communication must be published or spoken to someone and most jurisdictions require a showing of damages.

Legal Terms - Libel

Libel Definition: A wrongful written statement that injures the reputation of another.

Are you actually going to claim that this person is guilty of slandering, defaming, or libeling Rush, or are you just going to throw some dictionary definitions at me?

Funny, it appeared to me that McNabb threw one of his interceptions to a covered receiver.

Collinsworth(sp) had the "bad receivers" talking point, but they were all equally annoying.

I would agree with Collinsworth, except normally a crossing route is a timing pattern, and the QB would be throwing to a spot on the field, not at the receiver while he was tied up on the line of scrimmage with a db.

The receivers didn't break off their routes early because they are used to McNabb holding the ball FOREVER. Can't blame them because he couldn't get loose back there. Credit the D-Line for keeping him in the pocket.

Also I believe that Terry Bradshaw was the last qb to call his own plays.

Actually, it would be Jim Kelly. He called his own plays during his time in Buffalo, and it resulted in him Leading the Bills to 4 straight Super Bowl appearances.

Unfortunately, he couldn't handle the pressure of that one game, and his performance got worse each Super Bowl as he pressed for that one win.

I personally didn't think Rush should have brought politics into the sports arena... though what he said is obviously true. The media, in their efforts to show no partiality, by showing partiality, like the liberal mindset, stick their heads in the ground, and try to find the world they believe in... wishing away one reality for one they wish...

Late hits happen all the time, for pete's sake. For every one the camera captures, there are probably a dozen or so cheap shots at the bottom of a scrum that are much worse that you DON'T see.

It is especially funny to hear Eagles fans whine about a "cheap shot". The same people who cheered as Michael Irvin lay motionless on the carpet at the Veterans’ stadium. The same fans that loved Buddy Ryan headhunting kickers in nearly every game he coached.

I'm not a Panther fan but would willingly cheer for any team that plays the Eagles. The only thing better than a cheesy Eagles loss is the whine that follows.

Thanks for your reply. Was unaware that Kelly called his own plays. Not surprised because he had that intelligence to be able to do so.

Ummmm ... the Bills won a few conference championships along the way. You haven't quite gotten to their level yet there D-man. Maybe next year ... LMAO.

McNabb QB Rating (Playoffs) = 58.6 (10th among QBs)
McNabb QB Rating (Regular Season) = 79.6 (21st overall and 13th among QBs with more than 5 starts)

Pro-Bowl?
Over-rated?
You Decide...

Did Chris Collingsworth co-write this article? While the game was being broadcast he seemed like he was wearing an Eagle cheerleader's outfit and was ready to go down to the field to give the Eagles an inspirational Lewinsky.
