From 'Patriot' to explicit 'gay' sex? Heath Ledger reportedly in talks to play homosexual cowboy
Heath Ledger portrayed minuteman son of Mel Gibson in 'The Patriot' (Columbia Pictures) |
Mel Gibson fans will remember Heath Ledger as the eldest son determined to fight for independence against the British, the innocent but brave fair-haired boy-man who struggles for justice even among his fellow southern colonialists.
They will remember him in that role in the "The Patriot," that is, until the release of "Brokeback Mountain."
Production on Ang Lee's movie begins this summer. It is the story of two cowboys on the range in 1963. They fall in love under the Big Sky of Wyoming.
There's nothing left to the imagination in this script.
Ledger is reportedly in talks to star with another young actor, Jake Gyllenhaal, and they will, according to plans, perform explicit homosexual sex scenes for the camera and "mainstream" movie audiences across the world.
Yes, it's a first.
Though major Hollywood stars such as Tom Hanks and Antonio Banderas have played homosexuals in the past, none has actually focused on the physical acts of homosexuality as this film plans to do.
Homosexual activist groups such as the Gay and Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation are calling the movie "groundbreaking."
The main characters in this film marry and father children, but maintain their torrid love affair for each other throughout their lives.
The sex scenes reportedly take place in tents, on staircases and other non-bedroom locations.
Ledger, an Australian actor, also starred in "A Knight's Tale" and "Ten Things I Hate About You," a modern-day version of Shakespeare's "The Taming of the Shrew."

His last movie was a bomb: The Four Feathers. He'll do anything to revive a sagging career.

A movie is breaking news?
Considering this has already been posted.

But it's not controversial. It's a first! Only it's not really a first - just go to the local "brown bag video" store or surf the internet for a little while.
Just remember boys and girls, only movies being accurate with the Bible cause problems in society.

Revolting. I guess they think this will be all the buzz, a la Britney-Madonna. Somehow I don't think all those teen & early 20-something girls who've bolstered Ledger's career thus far are going to be quite as giddy watching him pack fudge. I predict we'll be seeing him on one of those "Whatever happened to..." shows in the not so distant future.

Homosexual activist groups such as the Gay and Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation are calling the movie "groundbreaking." And I call it "must-miss cinema"
I expect this'll tank pretty badly both at the box office and on video sales and rentals. Explicit gay-male sex does not go over well with the mainstream - never has and never will. There just are not enough gays/gay-symps in the world to make up a large enough market for the studio to recoup its production, advertisement, and distribution costs. I would not be surprised if this project gets stopped cold in preproduction... just as soon as some executive does the math of costs vs. market-niche. If it comes to the theater, there is a silver lining: the financial ruin this movie will inflict on the studio will probably kill any further attempt at a similar movie for at least two decades.

Jake Gyllenhaal played a teenage Homer Hickam in OCTOBER SKY, one of my favorite recent biographies.
As for Ang Lee.......he ruined THE HULK and his CROUCHING TIGER movie was crap.
Lee has always been highly overated as a director.

One doesn't "play" homo sex scenes. If you perform those acts, movie or no movie, you're a faggot. Period.

"ugh" is right. Gross.
Sigh..cant even Cowboys stay sexy and hetero?
I have no problem with gay people...as long as they keep it to themselves and dont try to force feed their "lifestyle" to the masses.

Sigh..cant even Cowboys stay sexy and hetero? Nope.
The agenda is to pervert everything until nothing shocks and everything is perverted.
