CTV- San Mateo county is super conservative county...even the Dems vote Republican.
Lowest crime rate in that part of Cal. last time they tried a death penalty case was 1991, jury convicted defendant and sent him to death row.

Finally, someone has found the place(s) where fair jurors can be found for this very important case. (Farthest star on the left, then take a right...)

Hmmmmmmmmm... sounds promising!

I think if Geragos wanted to appeal this, he would have to wait till after an adverse verdict, so I don't think we need to worry about this delaying the trial. (I'm sure plenty of OTHER stuff will come up to delay the trial...)

Oops, I wasn't reading carefully, sorry! Geragos wants to appeal the failure of that other judge to dismiss? I think he has to wait till after he loses the trial (IF he loses) to appeal that. So we needn't worry about this delaying the trial.

I haven't followed Martha's case but isn't it in a Federal court...NYC?
I was glad to hear that San Mateo is conservative..from what earlier posters said on this thread, most of that Silicon Valley area is. These folks will not be impressed with small time Snotty with his high priced attorney. Incomes are very impressive in those parts.
Also I think they will not be amused at his playboy/cheating ways.

Geragos predicts they'll be ready for trial by mid February. I don't know if he meant they will then begin the jury process or the actual trial will begin. Legal eagles are saying it would benefit Geragos to go to trial immediately because a delay will give the prosecutors more time to find additional evidence.

Thanks for the ping runningbear.

Yeah, just kidding about Martha. Geez, you know, these people who have unbelievable amounts of money, after they exceed a certain level, I'm about as interested in them as I would be in some character from a myth. It doesn't seem real to me, and the media can't seem to understand that some of us JUST DON'T CARE WHAT MARTHA DOES! LOL!

This San Mateo county is sounding better and better. As long as they don't have a bunch of ditzy fool women, as in the Menendez trial, who will "fall in love" (RETCH!!) with the defendant. Boy, it takes all kinds...

LOL, now you know better than that! I don't think anyone needs to put an X on their calendar for Jan. 26 just yet!

Maybe... May? August? December? Just guessing. Well, one thing: I'm sure that like other places, they put the trials of the defendants who are IN JAIL ahead of the trials of the defendants who are out on bond. That's one hopeful thing.

San Mateo County is not conservative. Tom "Dracula" Lantos and Anna Eshoo represent that county in Congress.

I doubt they will be charmed by him...some may even be very turned off by his $hit-eatin' grins, which I see as lack of remorse, lack of seriousness for this capital murder charge.
When the prosecution lays out all of his actions, bizarre as they were, after Laci went "missing", I think this will also be a big turn off to them.

I can't stand that tooth sucking he does either. In fact, I can't stand anything about Snott Peterson. I'm sorry that Judge Girolami isn't running the case. However, we could get lucky and get another Judge that is even LESS willing to play Geragos type games. As to the Jury, I believe they only need some intelligent folks. Even Liberals hate pregnant wife killers. They may even hate this pathological serial liar. After the other day, I think Distaso and Harris will do just fine in PRESENTING an understandable and convincing case to a Jury. Screw Jo Ellen Demetrius. What do you want to bet she will attempt to get both young ditzes and some young MEN. Men who don't have children and women who haven't had children. In my opinion, for the Defense, this isn't an easy case to try to "harvest" the right Jurors for. I hope they get a tough woman judge who regularly tells Geragos to SIT DOWN!!

Even liberals hate pregnant wife killers.

THAT'S IT! If they end up with a panel full of liberals, the prosecution needs to play up the "abusive male" stereotype! That'll nail Scott! After all, violence against women is unapproachable!
