Simply being here doesn't guarantee they can stay.

Of course not! But that statement also applies to all those who are already here! And most of them are staying! It's obvious that even prospect of this ill-conceived program is increasing the flood tide. Didn't we tell him so?

One man's "bitching" (as you put it) is another man's enlightenment and rallying to the cause.

Eagles Up!!

Well, then, therein is the problem. We have laws on the books now which are unenforceable. And you guys want even stronger laws, which will also be unenforceable?

You didn't notice that the Border Patrol are actually intercepting these people?

Those are the ones that are being caught. It's common knowledge here in San Diego that less than half are being intercepted.

Please. Don't give yourself too much credit. Your "rally" can probably be held at the local Denny's.

Any mention of "amnesty" by any US official, much less the President, starts millions moving north. But, it moves millions north later who figure there was one (or five) amnesty so there has to be another.

Any US plan that does not guarantee no one else gets across the border is a wet dream. Why are we putting more of Fox's Mexican failures on the US payroll to skim cash from our economy and send it back to Fox? Makes no sense.

Bush is being the ultimate liberal. He wants to be loved, at least by Mexicans, and wants to make a gesture that appears sensitive. He refuses to realize, like all liberals, that somebody has to pay the price of his being a nice guy.

There is NOTHING in this silliness for America or our economy. Some employers like it but what they save in costs is multiplied and shifted to the US taxpayers. I can't believe that black demagogues haven't raised hell over low level jobs that unskilled, unemployed black kids could do are taken by Mexicans. Not only are the entry level jobs taken, but the OJT the Mexicans get means they gain the skills to move up and blacks don't.

For starters, annualy decrease the allotted quota of legal immigrants by the estimated number of illegal immigrants, and there will be no increase in the total number of immigrants.

I suppose Bush could increase the INS and Border Patrol's resources to absolutely stop the flow entirely. But then the "real conservatives" here would complain that he's spending too much federal money. He can't win with you guys.

I'd vote for that. By the way, are you are "real conservative"?

"For starters, annualy decrease the allotted quota of legal immigrants by the estimated number of illegal immigrants, and there will be no increase in the total number of immigrants."

In all of the discussions that I have seen regarding immigration, this is one idea that really strikes me as a good idea. The elimination of legal immigrant spots would cause a whole bunch of pressure to be put on Fox for him to fix his mess.

People who are here because of aspirations that have always attracted foreigners to the US, people who actually have jobs and are contributing to the economies of their communities, and your suggestion is what...that they be kicked out?

Two things we can do PROACTIVELY to respond to the Bush "amnesty on the installment plan":

www.Save187.com - Download a Petition

www.HowardForSenate.com -
Support Howard Kaloogian for U.S. Senate Against Pro-Amnesty Boxer

And this article should be sent to every US Congressmember either on the fence or planning to vote against the President's cockamamie plan.

I am totally with you. I suggest each of us who is offended by this proposed insanity fax this article to both the White House and the RNC with our own personalized comments. I certainly will be.

BUMP!!!

Hey, AmericanInTokyo. I read your tagline. So I guess you'd rather have Kerry or Dean in the White House?
