Kerry Gaining Ground (Bush 45%, Kerry 42%)

January 27, 2004--Senator John Kerry has pulled to within three points of George W. Bush in the Rasmussen Reports national tracking poll. Yesterday, Kerry trailed by five points.

Kerry is the most competitive of all Democrats in a general election match-up with the President. He is also the top choice among all Democrats to win the party's Presidential nomination.

Senator John Edwards trails the President by just five points, 45% to 40%.

Before the Iowa caucuses, former Vermont Governor Howard Dean and retired General Wesley Clark were the most competitive Democrats. Both now trail Bush by double digit margins.

Survey results show that a generic Democrat polls better than any individual candidate at this point in time.

These results are from a national telephone survey of 1,500 Likely Voters conducted by Rasmussen Reports over the past three nights. The margin of sampling error is +/- 3 percentage points, with a 95% level of confidence.

laugh if you will, but this is serious. you have round the clock coverage of these Dem primaries, with no rebuttal of any kind. And its having an effect. If you allow these Dems to continue to spew lies, and let it go unchallenged day after day, eventually the lies repeated often enough become fact to many dumb american voters, and its much hard to rebut later on down the line for Bush.

Three weeks ago Dean looked like a shoe-in as Kerry was tanking.

This is Rasmussen so I'd have to question his conclusion as he totally blew it in 2000. I understand he has changed his polling methods but nevertheless, I'd say his polling needs to be taken with a grain of salt at this point.

I have long gelt about 41% is their lock...but even this still beyond comprehension...I mean that 41% would vote for someone who three his (somone's) medals at the White House, who admires Dictator thug Ortega, who would bow to the UN, who...well...the list goes on....It simply is so hard to accept that 41% of the American people are either blind, stupid, or socialists.

Anf the pollsters who picked Dean to win Iowa were right too? Give it a break and watch the changing numbers in favor of Edwards in the South, then watch the Dems in the dillema game self destruct.

GW has yet to fight back, and when he does, Kerry will begin his decline like a bowlling ball thrown from the top of the Mt. Hood.

LOL - exactly. But oceanview's point is well taken - Rove is having surrogates go out and do a little bit of the meet-and-greet stuff but it obviously isn't working - which is hardly surprising given the saturation coverage of the Dems.

As much of a scumbag as he was, Gray Davis had the right idea: figure out who you don't want to run against and carpet-bomb them with negative ads.
