His antics upon his return from Vietnam, (his *medals* notwithstanding,) he proceeded to help prolong the war and many thousands of our Servicemen were killed as a result of him and his friends. Playboy fabricated a political image for him and it continues to this day.

His image is a lie.

Nice twist, but overly simplistice and not believeable to people who have lived through (or even read about) the Vietnam war. We're going to have to tone down the "Treason" and tone up the "terribly misguided" if we want this to take off.

Just as the left and their mindless liberal minions scream about exit strategies today they screamed about Nixon's peace plan to end the war with honor. Where was it? they demanded incessantly. Everyday on network news: "Where was it?!!"

But it was an "issue" that was not an issue as defined by David Horowitz. The left had no interest then as now in "peace with honor." The "issue" of Nixon's peace plan was a weapon to attack America. Defeat of America and victory for communism was the left's goal then.

Humiliation of America is the goal today. Discrediting the President's unilateral actions and submission to the U.N. or Europe's chattering class is the left's goal.

The only issue for the left is the destruction of America's sovereignty and military.
