"They are so brilliant. They play music and have the keys to the meaning of life." Yeah but with all that going for them they still can't get no "Satisfaction"...

All scientists theorize. It's what they do, and we wouldn't have our present civilization if scientists refrained from guessing.
However, I see a difference between guessing (let's say) what would happen if you alter the chemical composition of a battery, and what is going on here. They guess at how the land has changed. They guess at what the weather was like 500,000 years ago. They guess that an axe was smoothed by a river. They guess that the axe moved from point A to point B.
And they put these guesses together and arrive at a conclusion. I'm sorry, I can't take that stuff seriously. REAL science contains some degree of guessing, and a lot of verified facts. This crap is pretty much 100% guesses and a conclusion.

Science isn't into 'why,' since that implies there is a purpose behind things. Who, what, when, and where, but never why.

It gets real interesting when they figure (guess) the coal layers were laid down billions of years ago and then dig up a chunk of it with a gold chain inside. Hmmm....

Waaaaaaaal, I got a theory 'bout that. If you give me a grant (make it a big one) I'll be able to flesh out my theory and give you a perfectly reasonable explanation for such anomalies...

No, no. Little Ug ran away from home with Papa Ug's ax. It was dropped when Little Ug fell into that big hole.

If they can plot its course and date it accurately, they could prove there were humans living in Britain 500,000 years ago and fill a gap in our pre-historic knowledge.
That's pretty astounding, I say!. Maybe it's just me though. I look forward to a great deal of gap-filling. Thanks for posting this, Blam.
