As much as I am not thrilled with the BBC type reporting it was rather sporting of them to apologize. Can you imagine Jennings issuing an apology to the Bush admin.

""On behalf of the BBC I have no hesitation in apologising unreservedly for our errors and to the individuals whose reputations were affected by them," he said. "

"On behalf of the New York Times I have no hesitation in apologising unreservedly for our errors and to the individuals whose reputations were affected by them," he said. ---not!

Gilligan needs to go. Until then (and still beyond until they demonstrate redemption) the BBC should be shunned and looked upon with the deepest disdain.

Not to nitpick, but the BBC should have mentioned those they wronged by name, starting with Kelly and Blair. That's what a real apology is.
