The government and the Navy can be proud of their actions in this one.

My brother lives in Poway and is an avid collector of WWII uniforms and other paraphenalia. A few years back he bought some things from Mr. Bucher. He just thought he was buying from another collector until he met him. He talked with him for hours and was able to purchase some items.

Bucher was given a suicide mission monitoring an increasingly hostile North Korea and was hung out to dry in crunch time.

Ollie North's War Stories had the story of the Peublo capture on this past Sunday. Sorry to see Cmdr. Bucher has passed away. He and his crew went through hell. North Korea deserves payback. Someday, hoping it comes.

The ship remained behind in North Korea, where it became a tourist attraction.

I say it's never too late to send a force to go get it back.

I remember reading a paperback on The Pueblo, published soon after the crew was released. Heavy stuff it was. Those men went thru hell. Kudos to them all, and to Commander Bucher.

Lloyd Bucher was left holding the bag for an administration's cowardice, another disaster on Lyndon Johnson's watch. The seizure of an American warship -- under ANY circumstances -- should be considered an act of war, and the response should be swift and certain: give us our people back or you will die.

Rest in peace, Commander.

I enjoyed War Stories about the Pueblo. I did not realize that the North Koreans still had the ship until I watched that.

I hope Cmdr. Bucher had a chance to enjoy that show before he died. Now his family will have that memory.

As usual, Ollie did a great job.

Oh man. He spoke at our Navy World Wide Public Affairs Conference in New Orleans last year. It was great listening to his sea stories. He was a real character.

My family always thought that Bucher got a raw deal. We all read that book on The Pueblo and couldn't figure out why the government left those men hanging.

I'm ashamed to admit that I'd forgotten all about this event.

The more I think about events such as this one, the Mayaguez, Desert One, and Somalia, the more I'm thankful for the man who sits in the White House today.

God bless George Bush. Finally a man with balls leading us.
