Kerry Disqualifies Self from Serious Consideration
Nationalsecurityonline ^ | 30 January 2004 | Christopher Holton

Yesterday Senator John Kerry made a maddening statement which showed exactly why he is completely unsuitable to become president of the United States.

In a Democratic presidential debate, Kerry claimed that the threat of terrorism had been "exaggerated." Exaggerated? Hmmm. Let's see, the worst terrorist attack in the history of mankind just under 3 years ago and the threat is exaggerated? The Democrats have a split personality on this issue. One day they say that President Bush hasn't done enough to support "First Responders." The next day they criticize him for not capturing Osama Bin Laden. Wesley Clark even lays responsibility for September 11th at President Bush's feet. Then they claim that the terrorist threat is exaggerated.

John Edwards, the boy-wonder plaintiff's attorney from North Carolina, who is mainly running for president because he knew he couldn't get re-elected to the Senate, chimed in as well, saying that national security was important, but there were other pressing issues. This is a recurring theme from Edwards. When asked about the war or the threat of terrorism, he almost always dodges the question and gives some canned line about how he understands the problems that face Americans every day--like education and health care.

HELLO! We're at war! Did anyone gripe about FDR's stance on the price of tea during World War II? If Edwards, by some unfortunate miracle, was to be elected president, he'd be whistling past the graveyard if he thinks he can devote equal time to the school lunch program and, say, the possibility that a terrorist group might set off a dirty bomb in a major U.S. city. Alas, not to worry. If that happens, Senator Edwards will sue those suckers for everything they're worth!

The ketchup king should explain to New yorkers just how exaggerated that threat was on 9/11.

he's banking on the ignorant looking around, seeing no more buildings tumbling down, then concluding there must not be any threat so Bush is pushing the war on them

The "put-on-a-happy-face" candidate.

Terrorism has been a threat since its inception, but I have seen not one damn person who gave a rat's pooper, before 9-11. Who rang alarm bells when our intelligence services were neutalized? We have acted exactly as we did before WWII (with respect to knowing what our enemies were up to) and, oddly enough, reaped the same reward.

Bill O'Reilly asked the question but missed perhaps the most crucial part of the question. "WHO'S LOOKING OUT FOR YOU?" Which of our leaders, of either party or branch of government, at any point in time, upheld their constitutionally defined duty.

Look at the rules put in place for the CIA during the Carter Years, the further cuts by Congress during the years and more"rules" imposed.Look at funding by Congress. They can stop a war and shape an intelligence agency.Big money was spent on technological marvels and they wouldn't fund more arabic speakers.

Do you suppose the guy falling to his death from the WTC would agree that terrorism has been overblown. Kerry and all democrats care more about the terrorists than the victims of 911. They still believe that stopping non-pc language is more important than national security. What a bunch of self-deluding morons.

I'm happily married to a Kentucky woman (this to ward off the PC lurkers...),P. Every time I see Edwards speak, I keep thinking he's going to say, "You might be a redneck if..."

It's the darling way he curls his lips when he speaks. Why wasn't he on the cover of The Advocate?

What ever happened to: "Ask not what your country can do for you, but what you can do for your country?"

It seems to have changed to:

"Who's gonna pay for my Viagra?"

My neighbor, the socialist democrat is going to vote for Edwards because he is cute! I'm glad that priorities are so straight around here. I get so mad that I just wave my hand and say I don't want to talk politics anymore. It is maddening.

Every time these fools spout this stuff they are giving aid and comfort to the terrorists and guaranteeing that the terrorists will try to maintain their activities until the election.
How many soldiers will die needlessly because of these foolish statements?

They all seem to care more about the terrorists. Poor little terrorists being stopped at airports. Can't have racial profiling. Their good buddies Saddam and Osama should have a trial with a jury of their peers.
