Former Democratic presidential front-runner Howard Dean said Sunday that it's time for his rivals to take some of their own medicine after they attacked him so forcefully when he was leading in the polls. Asked if he would get out of the race rather than risk weakening the new Democratic front-runner, Sen. John Kerry, with new attacks, Dean bristled, telling NBC's "Meet the Press":
"Now wait a second - what did I just put up with for four months as I was the front-runner? Did anybody say that to any of the other guys?
"No-o-o-o," Dean answered bitterly.
The disgruntled Democrat vowed to continue attacking Kerry no matter what the consequences for the party.
"This is a tough game, politics. And there are some things that I disagree with very strongly," Dean told NBC, before attacking the Massachusetts front-runner yet again.
"If you're the number one Senator who's taken special interest money in the last fifteen years, don't run your campaign based on, 'I'm not going to take special interest money,'" Dean said, before adding, "Just don't do that to me."

Very encouraging to see Howie not taking his shabby treatment from fellow Dems lying down. Run, Howie, run.

Shades of Eugene McCarthy. It looks like Howie has the same blood-thirst for revenge that ol' "Clean for Gene" had. McCarthy pretty much put the kibosh on LBJ running for a second elected term, and it looks like Howie is going to try to do the same for Kerry's try for a first term.
Politics is a blood sport, and it's getting nasty out there right about now. Better put up the splatter guards.

As much as I dislike Dean, you've gotta admire the guy's cajones sometimes.

Nikita Dean will rip the front-runner Jean F. Cheri and any one else who's still in the Democratic presidential contest. He won't go quietly into that good night, you can be sure of that. He'll be the Democrats' pit bull and leave behind a bloody mess.

I think that both he and his supporters are delusional enough to give it a try. I'm happy he isn't putting out any olive branches to the other Rat candidates.

"No-o-o-o," Dean answered bitterly. There were really only two answers to that question: "No-o-o-o", and "YYYYEEEEAAAAAAAAARRRRRGGGGGHHHHHHHH!!!!!"

Considering how McAwful and the rest of the dwarves savaged Howie over the last few months (not to mention the behind the scenes manipulations by the Clintonistias), I'd say that Howie is pretty much justified in doing everything he can to shaft the other candidates. What's good for the goose is good for the gander, turnabout is fair play, dirty for dirty and all that.
Besides, if we're really, really lucky, we just might get to see the Democratic party go the way of the Whigs. I imagine that Howie wouldn't mind being the one to carve out the epitaph on the tombstone.

It's just too bad that Howard has shot most of his wad in Iowa and NH. Dean is gonna run out of money pretty soon and has no momentum to get more cash.
