[history]
February 4, 2004 -- After a day of crisis talks, CBS yesterday agreed to let Janet Jackson and Justin Timberlake remain on this Sunday's Grammy telecast - but said it was working on new technology to censor any "inappropriate and unexpected events." The network, which has been under tremendous pressure to dump Jackson and Timberlake after their X-rated halftime antics at the Boob Bowl, said the new system was insurance against an encore performance.

SeeBS may have forgotten that the Super Bowl audience wasn't their usual group, and as such have more than one working brain cell.

Well if you consider what Janet popped out " a Jug" you have a point.

Did any logical human on Earth ever think that CBS would
not have those two (Jackson & Timberlake) on the Grammy bcst?
The brass at CBS would all appear naked on Face The Nation
rather than lose the publicity generated by that boob shot.

Punk'd. Hmmmm. I remember my daddy calling my brother on the carpet for using the word "punk". We didn't know the real meaning. Now executives use it and it's the name of a TV show. My how things have changed. Someday a boob will just be a boob .......
and a teat will just be a teat.

In the old days of television, anything that even approached this type of an incident would have resulted in a cut to a commercial and a ban/blacklist in the industry for the entertainer who pulled the stunt ("you'll never work in this town again").

Notice how no one at SeeBS has addressed the outrage of the flag that had the center cut so it could be used as a poncho. There also has been no discussion of all the crotch grabbing (even Michael Jackson caught flak for such moves in a video where he did that years ago).

CBS will not do the right thing by banning these two clowns because there would be a Hollyweird boycott of the event in solidarity under the guise of protecting the 1st Amendment. Principle sold down the river.

Baloney. They are manipulating. They want the shock value of having the two abusers appear.
CBS just can't seem to get a handle on the fact that it is entertainment that we want to see - not shock.
So - they deal only in shock. They have no ability to entertain.

Seems to me that Janet ought to show up at the grammy's wearing the same outfit, just so she can demonstrate what she thought was going to happen.
