People give Colin Powell short shrift sometimes, but he handled COngressMaggot Brown like a true professional.

Brit played this exchange a bit ago on his show. My jaw dropped (why? I haven't a clue. nothing should shock me anymore) when I heard and saw this pissant smugly say this to Powell.
Powell was LIVID and put that punk in his place.
I was hoping someone would post this. Thank YOU.

You should have seen him, he was so angry he was actually shaking. If that man would have said one more word I think Powell would have been over the table and at his throat. The dems have no idea what they are messing with here.

Mr. Brown needs to teach his aides some manners. You might not agree with what's being said, but you damn well better show respect for the age, rank and reputation of the speaker. What low lifes these Democrats are.

"First of all, Mr. Brown, I won't dignify your comments about the president because you don't know what you are talking about," Powell snapped.Powell was on the NBC news and he looked really POed at Mr. Brown.

The Brown family is extremely interesting. His brother, Charlie Brown, was Attorney General in West Virginia in the mid 1980s. He was always in trouble with someone for something, and left office under a cloud around 1988 or so. I can't remember exactly for what or why, but I will.
Sherrod was a state elected official in Ohio, and if memory serves, was in trouble for something that caused him not to run for re-election.
Hardly a person who needs to be lecturing anyone.
I think Gen Powell showed a great deal of restraint today, compared to what I might have said.
Wexler and Powell are both scumbags.

"I seldom come to a meeting when I'm talking to a congressman and I have people aligned behind you giving editorial comment by headshakes," Powell said. You can always count on these losers to behave like amateurs. I'm glad Powell stood up for the Pres.

I want to see Powell hop the desk and beat them in them up. See, the Bush team was just chomping at the bit for the primaries to end. The dems will be in the corner by Friday cowering in fear.

It is nice to see Secreatary Powell show some backbone and go after the Rats, especially when some little young puke has the audacity to shake his head in a congressional hearing when the Secretary was talking. As usual, no class or etiquette.
I see many hear are happy about this, as I am. But, if things follow the historical pattern over the past few years, this newfound backbone and challenging of the Democrats will be another one time deal.
The Senate Republicans are cowards and have no backbone to fight and the Dems know that. The pubbies are scared that if they start firing back, as did Powell, they will be vilified by the Dems as "partisan, combative, not willing to work together", etc., etc.
Plus, as we all know, the Senate Republicans are more concerned with getting negative press from the NYTMSNBCWPABCCBSPBSLAT than to stand up and FIGHT.
Yes, Mr. Powell showed great strength today. I will not hold my breath to see if any of this will rub off on the Senate Republicans.
