Would he cede U.S.

DOES JOHN Kerry believe in the sovereignty of the United States? It is a fair question given his comments about how he would deploy American armed forces.
In a 1970 interview with Harvards student newspaper, Kerry said Id like to see our troops dispersed through the world only at the directive of the United Nations. He defined this viewpoint as internationalist.
Kerry was only 26 years old when he said that, and he had just returned from Vietnam, which he viewed as unjustified American adventurism. Had he clearly changed his position since then, the comments would be little more than a curiosity, though still a scary one. But Kerrys position on deploying American troops seems only slightly moderated.
For one thing, he still calls himself an internationalist. The first statement on the foreign policy section of his campaign Web site is a quotation in which he advocates a foreign policy he calls progressive internationalism.
In last months debate at St. Anselm College, he said, I intend to be a President who goes back to the United Nations, rejoins the community of nations, brings other boots on the ground to help us in the world and reduces the overall need for deployment of American forces in the globe.
He has repeatedly labeled George Bushs foreign policy unilateralism even though the President has gathered numerous allies for both the Afghanistan and Iraq campaigns as well as for the diplomatic pushes against Iran and North Korea. Is Kerry saying that any action that comes without U.N. approval is unilateral? The American people deserve to know precisely what he means when he says internationalist and unilateral.

Kerry said that the United Nations should have control over most of our foreign military operations. "I'm an internationalist. I'd like to see our troops dispersed through the world only at the directive of the United Nations."

I think there has been an exaggeration," Mr. Kerry said when asked whether President Bush has overstated the threat of terrorism.
SC Dem Debate 01/29/04
Kerry opposed the death penalty until 2002 , voted against military action in the 1991 Persian Gulf war, and voted to freeze defense spending.
During the height of the Cold War, Kerry opposed the entire strategic modernization effort proposed by President Reagan the Peacekeeper, B-1 and B-2 bombers, the Trident submarine and D-5 missile, opposed the non-strategic modernization of the defense budget as well, and the deployment of the INF missiles in Europe.

Yes, the thought of Kerry giving the thugs at the UN any say in how or when we can defend ourselves is truly frightening.
But then, the Dims don't think terrorism is all that much to worry about.

People quote his interview from 1970, which is fine, as far as it goes.
But people need to start quoting his RECENT speeches, which say the same thing -- he wants to put the UN in charge of the US.
I highly recomment reading this long, but very sobering article about Kerry's foreign policy, which should be called Kerry's blueprint for the betrayal of America.
http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/1076567/posts Making America Secure Again (Kerry speech) (REPOST -- MUST READ -- Kerry a Danger to US)
Kerry speach on Dec. 3, 2003 in front of the Center for Foreign Relations.
""And in the first hundred days in office, I will go to the United Nations -- I will go in the first weeks -- and I will travel to our traditional allies to affirm that the United States of America has rejoined the community of nations. "
I will treat the United Nations as a full partner -- not as an obstruction to get by -- not only in the war on terror, but in combating other common enemies, like AIDS and global poverty. We must seek not only to renew the mandate of the U.N., but to reform its operations and revitalize its capacity. And if I am president, the United Nations will be seen as the asset that it is, not a liability to a safer America.
As president, I will be prepared early on to explore areas of mutual interest with Iran, just as I was prepared to normalize relations with Vietnam a decade ago. I would envision the Pope, the Archbishop of Canterbury, the Dalai Lama -- the great religious figures of the planet -- to begin to help the world to see the ways in which Islam is not, in fact, a threat, and to isolate those who are, and to give people the strength to be able to come together in a global effort to take away their financing, their freedom to move, their sanctuary, and so forth."

go to his website ....he says he still believes in
"A bold progressive internationalism," Kerry
Nothing's changed.
Foreign Policy
Americans deserve a principled diplomacy...backed by undoubted military might...based on enlightened self-interest, not the zero-sum logic of power politics...a diplomacy that commits America to lead the world toward liberty and prosperity. A bold progressive internationalism that focuses not just on the immediate and imminent, but insidious dangers that can mount over the next years and decade, dangers that span the spectrum from the denial of democracy, to destructive weapons, endemic poverty and epidemic disease. These are not just issues of international order, but vital issues of our own national security.

Kerry and sovereignty: Would he cede U.S. security to the U.N.?
All this headine needed was to have a large open space with a short statement.
"He'd promise to. But then he's always flip-flopping, so maybe he wouldn't.
Vote for Kerry. It's your one big chance to play Russian roulette with the future of
this country and the lives of your family and friends."
