Even here in California you can take your handgun out of your house without a permit. Most folks need to take a drive to go shooting. I'm not sure what the so called "gun laws" are in your location, but that answer seems misleading, or at least incomplete.

An aquaintence who claims he is a lifetime member of the NRA ... claims that overall he supports the renewel and that the majority of Americans will also, that is why bush will sign it. Perhaps you could print out theText of new Assault Weapons Ban introduced in Senate for him to read.
He should keep in mind that they intend to add significantly to this.

you! EFAD is a terrific tale and very timely. I stayed up much too late for three nights in a row to read it so I think it's fair to call EFAD a page turner.
It is too bad that this thread didn't get more attention for its own sake but I was also looking to find more openings for remarking on your work. I will be extolling its virtues when the opportunity arises. I enjoyed the look into the sailing life. Having spent most of my life in landlocked CO that's an unknown world to me. Or rather, it was. Fun stuff all around.

You know, you just can't please everybody. One of the most common knocks I hear against EFAD is too much boring sailboat stuff. Oh well. I'm glad you liked it! (And no F-words, or XXX sex. It really is different from most novels today!)
