A court hearing in the Superior Court of California, San Francisco County, which hears all municipal cases, was scheduled for 5 p.m. EST Tuesday on the group's petition. Already today, the Campaign for California Families (search), went before a judge to block the licenses but San Francisco County Superior Court Judge Ronald Quidachay delayed any action until late this week. The CCF wanted an injunction to keep the city from issuing any more licenses to same-sex couples, and a declaration that the ones already granted are invalid.

This is not good news. Here's what turned up in a Google search of Quidachay:

SF Superior Court Adopts Gay/Lesbian Anti-Exclusionary Policy
Posted 7/23/02

The Superior Court of San Francisco has adopted a policy prohibiting its members from activities that may give the appearance of bias based on sexual orientation. Adopting a statement drawn and unanimously approved by the Board of Directors of the Bar Association of San Francisco, the policy provides that judges should not participate as members in a chapter or branch of any organization that invidiously discriminates on the ground of sexual orientation by excluding members on the ground of their sexual orientation, unless the judge's chapter or branch has disavowed that invidiously discriminatory policy.

The policy is as follows: The Judicial Officers of the Superior Court for the County of San Francisco reaffirm their commitment to fairness, impartiality, the dignity of the Court, and the respectful treatment of all who appear before them and agree not to participate as a member of a branch or chapter of any organization that invidiously discriminates on the basis of sexual orientation by excluding members on the ground that their sexual orientation alone renders them "unclean", "immoral" or unfit", unless the chapter or branch to which the Judicial Officer belongs has disavowed that invidiously discriminatory policy.

Under the leadership of the Honorable Ronald Quidachay and the Honorable Donna Hitchens, both of the San Francisco Superior Court, this policy is effective immediately. "It has long been a tradition of the bench of this State, and in particular of the bench of the Superior Court in San Francisco, to respect the rights and dignity of all litigants and counsel who appear before it and to refrain from even the perception or appearance of any type of invidious discrimination, including discrimination based on sexual orientation. The San Francisco bench has always appreciated the diversity of its own members and of the citizens who have occasion to deal with the court system," said Judge Ronald Quidachay, Presiding Judge of the Superior Court of San Francisco. "We are pleased to have the opportunity to reconfirm that commitment."

"The Bar Association was very concerned about some of the language included in lawyers' briefs in Boy Scouts vs. Dale, as well as in subsequent cases, referring to homosexuals as not morally straight and unclean," said Angela Bradstreet, President of the Bar Association. "We are absolutely delighted that the San Francisco Superior Court bench has joined with the Bar Association of San Francisco in taking the lead on this issue of fairness, and has been so receptive to the concerns of litigants, jurors, lawyers, and other members of the San Francisco community involved with the judicial process. We are now approaching other metropolitan bar associations and local courts to ask them to follow the Superior Court's lead in ensuring that there is both perception and actuality of equality and impartiality in our court system for everyone."

Perhaps --- the moist finger (yuk) HAS been put up into the wind for a vote already! Perhaps the votes HAVE been tallied, and perhaps the winner is Gay marriage! And as Dr. Laura says, "Is this the Hill we want to die on?" What other reason is there for why nothing has been done to stop this tyranny? Do I just take salt off my grocery list? What if our constitution has errors? What if it will enable these behaviors? What if an ammendment conflicts w the basics? Then what? Are we spinning our wheels uselessly? Are we spinning the WRONG wheel? Do we need to look elsewhere for a solution? But hey, you caught me on a positive day. I want answers!! And I want one now!! Patience ain't my virtue! And the beloved Rush says our phone calls will make a difference - I'm beginning to doubt. If something could be done, it would have been done. Give me reason to hope!

What is the matter with the judges down there? It seems as if they are purposefully delaying the end of this garbage.

The fags and lesbians were making steady 'progress' with the help of friendly liberals and the liberal media but I think they played their hand too soon.

Maybe government schools (public schools)could re-educate the population to accept this in another generation or two, but not now!

"San Francisco city official Thom Lynch told Fox News that Newsom and other city officials did not feel they were breaking any laws

Yeah right....so I don't "feel like paying tax, driving at 65mph and not discharging my firearm"

"We're practicing the law as now defined by the state constitution, which says that all of our citizens are protected by equal rights," Lynch said."

They sure like to twist what the State Constitution says.

CALIFORNIA CONSTITUTION ARTICLE 1     DECLARATION OF RIGHTS SEC. 7. (a) A person may not be deprived of life, liberty, or property without due process of law or denied equal protection of the laws; provided, that nothing contained herein or elsewhere in this Constitution imposes upon the State of California or any public entity, board, or official any obligations or responsibilities which exceed those imposed by the Equal Protection Clause of the 14th Amendment to the United States Constitution with respect to the use of pupil school assignment or pupil transportation.

This only goes to prove that the sins of this country can be purged only through the shedding of blood.

It isn't going to do anything to gripe about it here. Start writing. Email is better than nothing, but calls, faxes, and especially letters are far more effective.

The steps in front of City Hall resembled a raucous wedding reception as newlyweds leaving the building hand-in-hand were greeted with applause and trumpet fanfare.

Nice campaign footage for the RNC,and free to boot!!

Thanks perverts!

This marriage thing may come back to bite them in the tush. Since they like a variety of partners in their sex lives, I see big trouble ahead. When divorce hits it means someone will have to pay alimony and child support, health care and who gets the Social Security benefits? I mean do these people have any idea how horrible the divorce courts are going to make their lives?

We should all freep this line and try to obtain marriage licenses to mary our pets, mothers, sisters, fathers, horses, and cars. These are also not allowed under California law, so why stop at same sex marriage? This will show the media what we are all in for if we open up Pandora's box and allow same sex marriages.

Will some lawyer here explain HOW a MAYOR can IGNORE not only the STATUES outlawing gay marriage BUT THE CALIFORNIA Constitutional Amendment defining a marriage between one man and one women?

What good is a LAW and a Constitutional Amendment if they can be ignored with impunity? Lastly WHY doesn't the Governor send in state law enforcement officials to arrest those culpable? (i.e. the Mayor and those performing the ILLEGAL marriages)

I don't feel very magnanimous to these law breakers today. I don't feel very tolerant at all.
