Every news network has cut away while Dean is still talking ( even CNN ) . What is Dean saying? I listened from the start and still can't tell. He sort of dropped out of the race.

I only heard it was expected, but the confirmation didn't come until Dean's announcement a few minutes ago.

HA! That really got him going, eh?
Poor Howie. He was so looking forward to giving a State of the Civil Union speech before Congress next year!
So much for the third Vermonter to become President (Coolidge and Chester A. Arthur were the others)
Woman to Pres. Coolidge: "Oh, Mr. President, I just bet that I can make you say more than three words."
"Silent Cal" Coolidge: "You lose."

Rush had a good one a few minutes ago. Dean ended his speech as Rush predicted, with his standard "take back our flag from Rush Limbaugh" comment ( most news networks stopped covering it ). So Rush is going to send Dean a flag. He has his staff looking up Dean's Vermont address. Rush said don't worry, he has plenty of flags left.

The post was a bit sarcastic: I was refering to when Joe Biden "stole" a speech and passed it off as his own.
Kerry & the other (D)'s have done the same to Dean on their new Iraq position

I think the way around it is to not place Clark's name into nomination.

Let me rephrase that statement..LOL..how about any dem who turned on the almighty dem machine? Other than Zell Miller, who hasn't gone GOP, I can't think of a dem who flipped party loyalty. Hmm... I am talking about one who was in an election...and then turned on his party during it or after dropping out.
There have been plenty of RATs that have jumped off that sinking ship (Phil Gramm was merely the most-prominent), but none that have done the Buchanan/Jeffords method since the Dixiecrats.

I think we have done some sort of record here; 6 weeks from the presumtive nominee (and Algore's endorsement) to a bye-ku (thank you, OpinionJournal, for inventing the bye-ku) without a scandal.

I believe delegates are unbound and not required to vote for the candidate that they are pledged to.
